We had a horrible experience with this rescue. Communication was horrible. Promises were not kept. I cannot shake the feeling that our race and/or zip code was the issue.
We returned to Minnesota Boxer Rescue where we previously adopted and had a wonderful experience.
If you want to work with a rescue that actually puts the dogs first, go to MN Boxer Rescue. They’re wonderful people who behave like professionals, keep their promises and match great dogs with good homes.
AABR is awesome. This pic is me meeting Ivory. My heart was broken over losing my Zoe so I decided to become a foster and Lori had one in mind. It wasn't long (2 wks) until we adopted this sweety. She is such a joy and we are grateful to Lori and AABR.
We have adopted two crazy boxer girls from AABR, and the whole experience has been exceptional. The rescue is there with you before, during, and after the adoption with an amazing community! Everyone we have met in person and emailed with has been fantastic - they truly and deeply care about their mission to find forever homes for these wiggle butts, and we are so grateful they helped bring Rubi and Gertie to our home.
I have been volunteering, fostering, and transporting with AABR for a few years now. They work really hard for all the animals they bring in. You can tell the dogs come first with this group. They sometimes even pull a distressed dog when they dont have the funds or the place to put them, and make it work to keep saving these amazing animals. They should definitely be recognized for the work that everyone does.
Looking for the perfect for us dog to adopt, we came upon Across America Boxer Rescue. We saw Rocky "Prince" and his brothers and fell in love. From our initial inquiry to the day we took him home, this rescue went above and beyond. Extremely thorough in the process of getting us approved. So many volunteers made it an extremely smooth process. We had our home visit and met our pup. He was fostered by the most amazing people! Since we have gotten him home, the rescue has continued to be there for support and guidance. We love bringing Rocky to AABR events as an "alumni" and are thankful every day that he was rescued from Kentucky and made his way into our home. None of it would be possible without the wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly with AABR! BEST RESCUE EVER!!!
We lost our Boxer Max in December 2017. Our other boxer Coco didn’t take it very well. So to help her through her grieving we decided to look into rescuing a friend for her. Our experience was AMAZING with Across America Boxer Rescue!! They really want what is best for the dogs! We had no issues with the application or home check process. They matched my family up with a special needs dog named “Mr Man”. Mr Man is blind and is the perfect addition to my family and our Coco is so happy to have a best friend again. Even after the adoption was completed they still show they care and help with anything you may need! Love this rescue and everything they do for the dogs!
I have adopted from AABR. I have watched many many dogs being helped by this rescue. They have hospice dogs, young, old and inbetween. They have a great foster base, and procedures for fostering, volunteers with a strong transport circle, helping dogs into their rescue, and helping other rescues with transportation as well. They ALWAYS give great care to their wards. I LOVE THEM.

Surrendered after a life of neglect, high HW positive and starving, AABR rescued my Titan. We’re so lucky to have adopted the most wonderful, adjusted (bomb-proof) soul. He is our joy. I watch them every weekend, running their transports to move dogs into their foster homes and for other rescues as well. They have a fine-tuned weekly crew of transporters. With AABR, it’s all about the dogs. I highly recommend adopting, from AABR.
I have been working on this Across America Boxer Rescue for a long period of time now. I have put up with one of the founders arrogance and hatefulness and abuse of power for too long. Recently she stated she was glad a boxer died because it was better off than being with the dogs owner who she hates. She has told others this as well. I will never work for Across America Boxer Rescuse again. No dog deserves to die. And no one in legitimate rescue should ever be happy a dog died. And the dog that died ironically was a boxer. Wishing bad stuff on a dog to get donations or attention is the lowest. Do not give money to Across America Boxe Rescue.

This review is inaccurate and was written in retaliation by an employee of a pet expo company who refuses to issue a refund to the rescue for a cancelled expo event in July 2017. We have never worked with this person on any form of rescue work other than attending a few of their shows and this person has never worked for the rescue. Thank you.
