Volunteering Oportunities

Nonprofit Overview

Mission: Acorn Acres specializes in the rehabilitation of squirrels, bunnies, and juvenile woodchucks; making sure they get a second chance, too. We provide our human neighbors in Lancaster County and surrounding areas with a free resource for these species. To our patients we offer a proper environment (clean, quiet, and predator free) to grow, thrive, and recover with species specific optimal nutrition as well as veterinary care. To our human neighbors and wild patients we commit to maintain and further our education as we strive to implement the latest technologies and practices. Mighty oaks from little acorns grow!

Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation is currently a small facility serving large numbers of orphaned, injured, or abandoned squirrels, bunnies, and woodchucks.
In addition to their nurturing and caring for these little creatures, they spend a great deal of time educating our community on the importance of protecting our wildlife. School programs, church groups, and senior living centers, have enjoyed these interactive learning experiences.
Acorn Acres volunteers are dedicated to helping our rehabs get back into their natural habitat and provide support for our ecosystem.
Supporting Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation, support’s daily care and feeding, supports any emergencies and veterinary visits, our programs and most importantly, our ecosystems.
