Mission: The mission of access independence is to promote independent living by providing services that enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities living in virginias northern shenandoah valley. The organization operates as a center for independent living serving the city of winchester and the counties of clarke, frederick, page, shenandoah and warren. Access independence provides an array of services which include information and referral, peer counseling, independent living skills training and advocacy for persons with disabilities in an effort to obtain the highest possible levels of independence.
Programs: The direct service programs provided by access indendence, inc. Include information and referral, peer mentoring and independent living skills training and advocacy. During the year access independence served 359 consumers. Access independence also provices an array of community services to business, other community organizations and government entities.
access independence's outreach efforts include community education, training, and technical support empowering people with disabilites, their families, and disability-related organizations to become better advocates for independent living. During the year, access independence provided 3,089 hours for community servcies.
