Work with school districts to improve educational services, develop academic programs for students with significant needs, and one to one advocacy. Specific grant funded activity includes community development of accessible public transit in rural communities: more than 1,300 persons had the oppoortunity to participate, more than 125 did participate. This agency helped us through the IEP process with our deaf daughter. They supported our decision to place our daughter in the least restrictive environment with the appropriate services to meet her needs. The local school district was pushing hard for what was easy for them, not what was appropriate for our daughter. Their knowlege, research, and support in the meetings made the difference. Thank you!
