The Academy of Special Dreams doesn't cease to amaze me. My husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to view the Seventh Annual Disability Art Exhibit held in downtown Los Angeles with which the Academy was actively involved. The exhibit highlighted the talents and abilities of artists that are so deserving of accolades and support, whether financial or otherwise. We feel truly honored and privileged to continue as donors. We hope that others will be as touched by the Academy as we are and will find a way to support.

The Academy of Special Dreams Foundation primary mission is to promote the inclusion of individuals with special needs in all societies. Art is one of the few commons shared throughout all societies, cultures, and locations. We promote all forms of artistic expressions of individuals with any type of disability from all over the world. This is done locally by holding gallery exhibitions, concerts, and a variety of other events, and globally on the internet by virtually showcasing artists works through images, writings, and videos. Another way we support artists is by with stipends for materials and supplies, and scholarships to continue their education.
These are just some of the reasons The Academy of Special Dreams Foundation is a unique and important nonprofit organization.

I was one of the early artists to receive support from The Academy of Special Dreams Foundation, and now I'm one of it's board members.
I first found out about The Academy of Special Dreams Foundation through the internet. Though this doesn't sound important, it truly is significant. Being an online organization has many benefits, we're not physically or financially tied to any one location, we're able to work with artists and supporters around the globe. Most importantly, disabled artists who might not be able travel or even leave their homes can get involved with us, and gain support and exposure for their artistic talents because we are an online nonprofit organization.
These are just some of the reasons The Academy of Special Dreams Foundation is a unique and important nonprofit organization.
Thank you all for your wonderful support and most of all for believe in our vision to Bring Public Awareness and recognition to the creative talents of people with disabilities.
The Academy of Special Dreams is an organization that brings together a combination of talented artists, and for those who have an interest in the Arts wanting to build a foundation of fundamentals and encouraging self-expression. Everyone in the Academy strive to achieve development in areas from production to community.
The artistic skills along with interpersonal skills that I have observed in the past few years is very exciting and moving to see!
As an employee with the City of Los Angeles we once again partnered with Academy of Special Dreams. Every year we work with them I am even more impressed with their dedication to developing artists. From teaching art to assisting in editing media material, whenever we needed help Academy was the first partner to offer assistance.
When the students participating in the Academy's programs arrived to the Artist's reception it filled my heart with joy to see so many excited, smiling faces. The student's enthusiasm and happiness was moving to all who witnessed it. There presence at the reception would not have been possible if it wasn't for the Academy coordinated transportation to our event. The Academy of Special Drams makes the dreams of people with talents who also happen to have a disability come true.

The Academy of Special Dreams showcases the abilities and talents of persons living with disabilities in LA County. I have met some of the artists and they all have different stories that they express through their art. I had the pleasure of hanging out with on of the Academy's Artist Kenneth James last month. He was very passionate about his work. His media of rip art helped him express his life experiences in the service of his country and the daily grind of living in LA. His art is moving and thought provoking and I would have never seen it if it wasn't for the Academy of Special Dreams.
The academy of special dreams is a great organization that has been and continue to help talented artists who are limited by their disabilities to accomplish their dreams. God bless this great organization to continue to help more and more artists to show the world who they are :)
The Academy of Special dreams is truly special. I recently volunteered to curate the Seventh Annual Art exhibit for the City of Los Angeles, not only did they respond with many artworks but they were a pleasure to work with through out the whole process. This nonprofit organization cares about the community they serve and endeavor to create a positive and meaningful experience. I applaud them for their efforts. If anyone wants to become active and help the disabled community they would do well to associate with this organization.
It was fun at the exhibit. Tho parking trouble on last minute blocked the way. But it was a fantastic time to meet with new artist from around Alhambra and Los Angeles to be cerious and inspired by their motivations and courage towards arts.
I want to be an artist because I love to make short films, take photographs and most of all compose my own rap lyrics and music. Through music, film, and photography I have been able to express myself and my feelings. My faith and relationship with God is most important to me because He has given me strength and courage every day of my life. Many of the songs, films, and photographs are a testimony of my life and relationship with God.
I hope that through the lyrics of the songs I sing, the films I make, and photographs I take that people would be encouraged to never give up and always try their best. Also, to know that God is with us every day and He has a plan and purpose for each and every one of us.
I want to combine film, photography, and my rap songs and be a living testimony to others and share with them how my life has been transformed since God came into my life.

The Academy of Special Dreams has created a pathway for special needs artists to channel both their talents and gifts in such a manner to have them seen, world wide. This organization provides tremendous support and direction for those who might not otherwise have the means or contacts to achieve optimal exposure. As such, hidden talents in the areas of music, art, and literature can now be shared with all. With this window open, the wonders of self-expression and personal accomplishment/abilities, can be realized.
It has been my pleasure to see how the Academy of special dreams has helped the special needs community by providing them with a platform for showcasing their artwork. A special thank you to Mr. Michael Dergar for providing the artist with the opportunities he has brought forth. It is truly a pleasure to support such a great foundation. I wish the special academy the best of luck and many blessings.

Through my travels all over 38 countries, I had the oportunity to be part of many exhibitions in the world, as well as become familiar with many special needs communities and organizations. This is an amazing organization run by caring and energetic individuals. They provide a forum in which my deaf students are allowed to display their artistic talents. My students have benefited greatly by having such positive recognition. In addition, younger students have been able to access deaf role models as well as to learn about various career paths they may follow by viewing the videos associated with this organization. I can't say enough good things about them!
Academy of Special Dreams was a program that I witnessed making a difference on a day to day basis. Mr. Dergar helped facilitate a shared art experience between the Alhambra High Art Club, and students from the program to come together making art. I was the president of the art club at the time, and it was an awesome experience. The interactions were always successful and everyone bonded through making art together. It was fun, enriching, and I looked forward to it every week. This program really inspired a passion in me to use art in my life to connect with people.

I am a dancer/choreographer/ dance teacher and the Academy Of Special Dreams has helped me out in supporting me in what I do as an artist. They were inspired by my story that they have asked me to be ambassador of Santa Clarita in representing for my City. They also help me out with scholarships. I seriously could not ask for more. I am so thankful that there is an organization that young artists with disabilities can get help in promoting what they do. I truly love this organization! :) Thank you Academy Of Special Dreams for everything you do for young artists with disabilities and for doing what you have done to help me. THANK YOU!!!
The academy is unlike any other organization I have seen. It helps bring awareness and bring people together through various types of art. It gives us a sense of tight knit community.

Review from Guidestar
I wish this organization could provide a physical location for artists like me that have disabilities and not resources. I attended their last event on June 2011. It was beautiful to see may people supporting a cause of helping to bring awareness. the website is one of the best I ever seen. easy to manage and navigate. Thank you Academy for your support.
