Nonprofit Overview
Mission: Abundant Living Adult Day Services is a ministry of Lutheran Services for the Aging. We strive to express God’s love in Christ to those we serve.
Geographic areas served: Rowan County, North Carolina
Programs: Abundant living adult day services, inc. (alads) enables frail older adults and adults with disabilities to remain at home and in the community through the use of supportive services. Participants receive healthcare during the day, while caregivers are at work or at rest. Program attendance enriches the lives of older adults by preventing the social isolation that sometimes results from age, infirmity or geography. Participation alleviates loneliness and isolation while promoting health, wellness, and good nutrition. Purposeful activity fills hands and minds idled by poor health and boredom. Day care also provides families with opportunities for a break from caregiving responsibilities; family members can work or rest while loved ones receive care and attention in a safe supportive setting. A registered nurse, certified nursing assistants, and activity personnel offer medical monitoring, assistance with personal care, and purposeful activity in a safe, secure, and supportive environment. People with alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia are served. Certified by the department of health and human services division of aging, abundant living adult day services, inc. Is a united way agency. During the year ended september 30, 2014, alads provided 7,799 days of care to 90 residents.
