A World aware is a great help to our children's home. They are teaching our children about biblical life principles. This has caused a great change in our children's lives. They are more helpful to each other. They have learned how to teach the younger children. Even one of our children who moved back home said she would continue to help and teach younger children in her neighborhood.

We run a children's home in South Africa. A world Aware provides volunteers to help us with different projects. The head of AWA is a good friend. In addition to the volunteers he brings us, he also invites the children to come visit at his home. We have cookouts, playtime and use his pool. The children love to visit Michael.
A world aware provides volunteers for our children's home in South Africa. They also raise awareness of our needs to individuals who are able to help us. This year they counseled and encouraged some of our volunteers and made their experience even greater than it would have been.

We run a children's home in South Africa. AWA is frequently bringing us volunteers to help with our work. Most come for one day, but some stay as long as three months. It is a great blessing to be the recipient of this organization. They also bring school supplies, balls, clothes and numerous other helpful items. Even invite the children to go on outings, such as picnics and swimming pool outings.
I worked for AWA last summer in villages and towns in South Africa. The experience was encourageing and the organization for the trip and work on the field was 100% complete and ready when needed. In addition people were taught and helped. Not just given something and then left to fend for themselves. No better then before. In the end, AWA equipts - that is why I will continue to be a supporter and volunteer.
A World Aware has allowed a wide variety of opportunities for my family and me such as travelling to South Africa for relief work. This experience was rewarding and life changing. A World Aware not only works to help those in need, but also works to educate the individuals in communities locally and globally about the opportunities to reach out to others effectively. We were trained and then given the opportunity to pass the information along that we received to others in need. A World Aware provided business training that has been relevant to me in my career as well. I respect the integrity of this organization and know that every penny donated is stretched as far as possible. The dedication, sacrifice and heart this organization has for helping others is remarkable.
All of my experience with AWA has been excellent. I try to donate money each month, and I am able to get online and see where my money is going. Great communications on the website, and through email. Plenty of pictures as well, (which I like seeing). Year end receipts are always prompt, and their whole mindset is really why I donate to them in the first place. They are all about your sphere of influence, and helping people (not just in other countries but here as well) understand that they CAN make a difference to those struggling around them and around the world.
A superior organization dedicated to helping people thrive on their own. A World Aware, Inc. uses a no nonsense approach to bringing people together to help each other too. By being the example of cooperation they instill an ethic for living that gives confidence to those around them and that not only motivates them, but gives hope too. Great job.
I have had different opportunities to work with A World Aware. One such opportunity was to be trained in small business ownership/management. I was equipped with knowledge on how to start my own business and successfully run it, ways on advertising, and organizational skills necessary to be successful. Another opportunity was to do volunteer work over in South Africa. During monthly training sessions with fellow team members, I was able to learn about the culture, customs, and geography of where we would be visiting specifically. I was also able to meet with South African people before ever stepping a foot into the country and interact with them regularly. Through this process I learned the South African etiquette, important terms and phrases, as well. We were well prepared for what to expect and what our roles would be with enough time to become a cohesive team as well. A World Aware was very excellent at estimating the costs for the trip and arranged the travel, where we would stay, and how we would get around. When the airline we had planned on unexpectedly went on strike, AWA handled getting everyone's travel arrangements transferred and everyone arrived timely and safely. During the actual trip we were able to help impoverished children eat, and to equip local teachers with improved methods of teaching. At the end we were debriefed regarding the extreme poverty we encountered. This debriefing allowed us to understand the impact we had made and how lives had been changed for the better. In my experience working with different organizations A World Aware stands apart. Their philosophy is to train the world's poor how to provide for themselves and others. They do not believe in giving handouts; instead they know that everyone has something to bring. Through my experiences working with A World Aware I have seen many people gain confidence when they realized they could not only provide for themselves but also contribute to their community and society. I would recommend A World Aware to anyone who wants to volunteer and help change lives and the world for the better.
I have seen the amazing effects that this organization has on the volunteers as well as those they are helping. They truly believe in helping those less fortunate gain the knowledge needed to help themselves. Many family and friends have returned from their mission changed for the better and a more open heart to help those that are less fortunate. Hearing the stories of what great things are being done in South Africa to help is evdence that we can make a difference.
A World Aware Inc. teaches business classes to the truly poor of the world. After just the first of a series of these classes, students have had the knowledge and confidence to step out and start their own business, apply for positions they were not comfortable with prior to the class, and exhibited traits that all employers seek in the job market. The down to the earth presentations give confidence as well as information to the students. The program requires participation in a volunteer effort to practice their newly learned skills, thus propelling them into the job market with great success.

Teaching excellent skills, but also to teach the students to give their knowledge to others freely is tryly the way things should be done. This is what makes AWA a vibrant and successful organization. They cover job skills in the trades from plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc. but also business ownership, or how to be a really great employee. The support systems after the training is exceptional too. Requiring students to participate in a hands on project that gives back to the community sets a great standard and brings benefit to many. Keep it up AWA!
