AWFW does visionary work in the U.S. and around the world and brings together issues that, still, rarely are linked enough, including hunger, animal welfare, sustainable food systems, and the importance of ethical relationships with other beings (human and non). Staff are thoughtful, efficient, responsive and all work really hard. I'm still amazed by how much AWFW gets done -- and done well, without drama or "flashiness", and with considerable rigor and foresight. AWFW is an impressive organization and it's a pleasure to work with them.
.I am deeply grateful to Dawn Moncrief and A Well-Fed World for their generous support over the years. A Well-Fed World stands out by uplifting those who may have fewer resources but are just as passionate and determined to create meaningful change. Their belief in the power of grassroots projects has enabled me to support emerging filmmakers with powerful vegan and animal rights narratives, amplifying voices that otherwise might not have been heard.
The work that A Well-Fed World does is so important, not only through their incredible feeding programs but also in the way they foster creative activism and compassion. I will always be grateful for their kindness and vision.
A Well-Fed World's fiscal sponsorship of my advocacy for animals has been a crucial reason that I've been able to do this work day-in and day-out. Because of their support, I've been able to reach millions more people through social media in my efforts to raise awareness about the world that farm animals experience and how we can create a better version of this world. I'm so grateful to Dawn and her incredible team for all of their efforts.
A Well-Fed World does incredible work thanks to its talented president and devoted staff. We’ve collaborated on several projects, including the Reducetarian Summit, and the organization always produces stellar results. I couldn’t be more grateful for their efforts and their input.
Having a small, grassroots nonprofit, I know that funding can be the biggest obstacle in the ability to make positive changes in your community. Through their grants and informational materials, A Well-Fed World has enabled us to exponentially grow the vegan communities in the cities where we hold our free educational programs. Their support helps diverse nonprofits and individuals worldwide make a positive impact in their local communities, as well. On a planet that is in dire need of lasting solutions to animal abuse, climate change, and world hunger, A Well-Fed World is making tangible global progress happen.
In the just concluded Africa Animal Welfare Conference Action 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda, a Panel Discussion on diet change for people, animals, and the environment on day two of the conference was held and discussed ways in which diet change to plant-based diets would be a significant step towards healthy people, animals, and the environment. The discussion was followed by a vegan dinner for all the delegates.
Our sincere appreciation goes to Animal People and A Well-Fed World who supported this initiative which had a significant impact. Thanks to A Well-Fed World who provided over two hundred conference delegates with a Climate-Friendly Food Guide magazine- Celebrating the joys and benefits of plant-based foods. This gesture was in line with what has become of the A Well-Fed World, a dependable friend of Africa.
Since the first Africa Animal Welfare Conference (AAWC) in 2017, A Well-Fed World has consistently supported the conference through a partnership with the Africa Network for Animal Welfare (ANAW). This is in addition to other programs they support in Africa. This conference is a transformative educational and information-sharing hub in Africa that ANAW cohosts with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the African Union Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources and the Government of the country in which the conference is held. This year the Government of Rwanda.
The Conference brings together all stakeholders including state and non-state actors, such as government representatives, diplomats, academia, farmers, civil society, private sector, opinion leaders and intergovernmental bodies.
The footprints of AWFW in the conference and its impact are well recognizable and those who support AWFW programs need to know that their support to them is making an impact in Africa. The journey towards a Climate-Friendly Food chain will need AWFW and its supporters' intervention in the coming days .

A Well Fed World is an organization that stands as a shining example of leadership and dedication in the field of humanitarian work. Their commitment to addressing global hunger and food insecurity is not only commendable but also profoundly impactful.
What sets A Well Fed World apart is their approach to tackling pressing issues through harm reduction and an eye toward environmental protection. They not only provide direct assistance to those in need but also actively support other nonprofits through small grants. These grants play a crucial role in enabling smaller organizations to make a meaningful difference in their communities.
In a world where the need for humanitarian efforts is ever-growing, A Well Fed World’s generosity and support for other nonprofits are like a beacon of hope. Their work transcends borders and brings nourishment and relief to those who need it most.
A Well Fed World deserves the highest praise for their tireless efforts to make the world a better place. They are true leaders in their field, and their commitment to creating a well-fed world is an inspiration to us all.
I have nothing but great things to say about A Well-Fed World. As a nonprofit leader myself, I am deeply inspired by their tireless efforts to reduce suffering, effective approach to advocacy, and unwavering community support. They not only effectively address the intersections between global hunger, animal agriculture and the climate crisis, they help countless other organizations and grassroots activists make meaningful change alongside them. That devotion to sustained, cooperative movement-building is desperately needed and one of the many reasons I'm very grateful for AFA.
A Well-Fed World is a smart,, compassionate organization achieving meaningful change for good. Their programs empower those who have been without to grow food, create income, and influence their communities for a better standard of living for all, A Well Fed World is actively strengthening plant-based feeding and farming initiatives. AWFW is also an educator, advocate, and change-maker, informing people far and wide about poverty and realistic ways in which we can ensure that everyone on earth has enough to eat today.
A Well-Fed World bridges grassroots action and global advocacy in a beautiful, high-impact, way! They operate in an important but neglected space, dedicated to creating sustainable food systems for people deeply struggling with food security and malnutrition.
A Well-Fed World stands out as a charity, with its cross-cause area impact.
Always rooted in the latest science, they are able to address climate change, animal welfare, hunger, and malnutrition, by focusing on the way we perceive, produce, and consume food.
Few charities can boast as much experience in working to address so many issues at once, and even fewer with such dedication.
I have donated to A Well-Fed World since its inception. I have always found their grant-giving straightforward and transparent and in line with both my hunger-relief and vegan principals. They enable donors to give to organizations that have been vetted to be in line with a vegan mission.
The impact of A Well-Fed World (AWFW) on my advocacy efforts has been profound, encompassing both financial backing and invaluable mentorship for skill enhancement. Renowned for its exceptional dedication and professionalism, the AWFW team genuinely practices what they preach, leaving an indelible mark on the realm of veganism and animal rights advocacy. This nonprofit organization has been instrumental in fostering a sense of security and inclusivity within the movement. For those seeking to allocate resources towards a charitable cause that strives for more equitable and sustainable food systems, opting for A Well-Fed World stands as an ideal choice. By doing so, you will be championing innumerable grassroots initiatives spanning the global landscape.
I'm very concerned that Charity Navigator has not gotten a tax return (or 990) from them (A Well Fed World organization) since 2016 for the year 2015!! If you are claiming to be so transparent then what have you been hiding for the last 5 years??!! For all I know your top executives salaries could have quadrupled by now and if you claim that all the donors donations are going straight to the people who need it the most, why haven't you backed that up with a financial report? Infact the financial tab on your website goes to you telling us just how great your financials are rather than breaking it down for us so that we know OUR HARD EARNED AND DESPERATELY NEEDED FINANCIALS aren't going to pad the pockets of people who seem to make 10 to 50 times more a year on a "NON-PROFIT" than we donors have to survive on. Before I can change my rating and certainly donate or suggest any one else does I need to see a current tax form, financial statement and preferably a place on your website where this information is readily available, as it should ALWAYS BE!
But that said, still I have NO idea what you people do?! There seems to be alot of cute little "veganism things" you give money to that promote a vegan diet but I certainly don't see how any of these things help people in Africa, India and South America!?? And I sure as heck don't see how they empower women and children! So besides getting your ideas and beliefs spread out to the rest of the world WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU DO TO HELP THOSE PEOPLE WHO NEED THE MOST HELP..certainly NOT some parade somewhere in the United States or some US based radio station or some cute little vegan or animal rights magazine! To me you seem like another so-called non profit who rather than went out and got a job, decided to create another "non-profit", send out a few pamphlets based on your beliefs, gave yourself $10,000 in raises each year since 2015 besides the other impressive amounts for additional employee benefits (since you ARE the only employee..right?) including travel!! And yet..I still am asking myself how you have ACTUALLY benefited those who are suffering the most with all these grants and donations you've received..how many farmers in Africa have gotten a parcel of land, irrigation, plants or seeds and whatever else they need to start feeding and supporting themselves from the 3 million your "non-profit" brought in last year? If what you're selling is information then why do your grants seem to go out to those who are doing the same thing??!! WHO IS ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING TO RECIFY THIS SITUATION?? Until you can claim (and backup) that you are doing that..you are nothing but an expensive waste of time..since I don't have the time to look up everybody you support I admit..I could be wrong, but when the institutions I DID look up seem to ONLY do what you say you do..and REALLY..A PARADE? US BASED ANYTHING DOING THE EXACT THO LESSER THING THAN YOU DO?? Didn't believe by then I was going to find anything any better..but PLEASE prove me wrong!

Wow, Mary Ann, I’m sorry you've been so upset. There’s limited space so I’ll jump right in to address some of your concerns. An important thing to know is that our operation costs (incl. staffing & fundraising) and our grants for advocacy are fully covered by a large foundation. This is how we are able to send 100% of the donations we raise from the general public to directly support plant-based feeding and farming programs for people in need. See examples at: www.awfw.org/grants-food www.awfw.org/disaster-relief www.awfw.org/gifts Charity Navigator and Guidestar are supposed to pull 990s directly from the IRS, but they haven’t been as reliable as they used to be. Either way, our reports are available on request and there’s a link to our most recent financial report in the Low Overhead section of our Financials page: www.awfw.org/financials. I hope this helps. We link to the groups if you'd like to support them directly. Warmly~Dawn Moncrief founder/president dawn@awfw.org

Hi again, to answer your question, here's more information on what we do. In addition to grants and fiscal sponsorships, we highlight and synthesize research, provide free outreach and educational materials (primarily handouts & our EcoFood Guide - EcoFoodGuide.org), partner with and advise other groups to strengthen the plant-based movement, and present on the benefits of plant-based foods and farming, especially their benefits to global food security and climate change mitigation. The program that is closest to my heart is Plants4Hunger.org. Anyone can donate at any time, but it is specifically designed to be a gift-giving campaign that provides a compassionate, plant-based hunger relief alternative to animal "gifting" organizations like Heifer International (awfw.org/no-animal-gifts). We don’t ourselves grow or distribute food. Much better, we use our resources to raise money and awareness to assist groups on the ground doing work in their own communities as they know best.
A Well-Fed World consistently goes far and beyond to help in the most disadvantaged places, including India's people and animals and thereby the environment too - a win/win!
A Well-Fed World fills a much-needed niche in the nonprofit animal advocacy, food justice, vegan advocacy sector. The organization board, staff, and volunteers are dedicated to its mission and uphold the highest standards of transparency and work ethics. And AWFA is also a major player in the international space, assisting grassroots organizations in fulfilling their mission through financial and capacity building support. Overall. AWFW is an outstanding organization with my highest support.
AWFW does amazing work. They help and support countless charities in need around the world. Check out their list of over 400 (!) groups they've supported www.awfw.org/grants-list/ I've never met a more selfless and supportive charity as AWFW.
A Well-Fed World is an outstanding organization committed to making this world a better place by working to decrease hunger in the best possible way. The organization fosters and supports groups that are spreading the plant-based/vegan message with the goals of decreasing world hunger, improving human health, decreasing/eliminating animal abuse and suffering and helping to protect our planet and its ecology. The Director is one of the most conscientious and caring persons I've ever had the privilege of knowing. I am honored and proud to be a board member of such an important and engaged entity working to make this planet more humane, and supportive of all its inhabitants.
A Well Fed World is one of those rare organizations that are truly about the work of changing lives and making an impact in this world. They have consistently supported and made a difference in not only the Animal Rights movement but in the Environmental Justice movement and supported activists and organizations who are about the work of making a difference. Because of A Well Fed World's assistance our organizations have been able to continue to do our community work of installing gardens, feeding children, teaching new young activists, farming and building community centers not just here but also in Africa and anywhere we touch down. They are a true blessing.
I see AWFW at many events and the staff are always smiling and friendly. They have a great mission statement -- helping people AND helping animals. #winwin. Their materials are informative and one of them really opened my eyes to the myth of humane meat. Thank you, AWFW!!
A wonderfully committed and thoughtfully administered organization doing some vital work at the intersections of food justice, animal rights, and international engagement.
A Well-Fed World enabled my charity, Beyond Carnism, now a 501c3, to stay alive and then helped us to thrive. They have been our lifeline over the years, advising and mentoring us and supporting the growth of our infrastructure and ideas. I credit AWFW for much of our success. And, I know they are supporting many others -- and also running their own programs and campaigns that uniquely address multiple global problems at once. AWFW is an organization of tremendous integrity and is a gift to the world.
A Well- Fed World is a partner organization with International Fund for Africa ( IFA) working together to feed vegan schools breakfast and lunch for over 500 kids every school days for last five years!!
A big supporter for income generating activities and sustainable projects for IFA.
A well - Fed World is great organization to work with
Brilliantly run nonprofit led by honest, well connected and effective people tackling the connected worlds of human hunger and animal suffering.
A Well-Fed World is a unique integration that addresses world hunger while protecting the environment and the earth that we all share.
Social Work has been and is, my passion and occupation. Poverty, the contributing factors to poverty and the dire consequences of poverty have been my primary focus for over 30 years. I have been in the homes and shelters with the families, children, elderly and others who suffer from the pain of poverty. Hunger in America still goes beyond “food insecure”.
A Well-Fed World has stepped in to provide nutritious food to the impoverished families in the community I serve at times when other state, non-profits or my own advocacy and efforts were not sufficient to the meet their needs.A Well- Fed World does make a positive difference in the world. Thank you AWFW.
Consistent education and delivery of help to the most needy in the world, the undernourished people and the animals around them. With completely selfless motivation there is no better use of donor dollars than to support the lifesaving and lifegiving work of A Well Fed World!
A Well-Fed World is an ideal charity to support for those concerned with the well-being of humans, animals, and the environment. An efficiently run nonprofit, their unique focus of hunger relief through plant-based foods provides resources for communities in need, protects farmed animals, and promotes environmental sustainability.
Through their dedication to addressing issues of world hunger as well as animal welfare and social change, A Well-Fed World is one of a few organizations making a comprehensive positive impact on the world!
A Well-Fed World is doing amazing work to support hunger relief and animal suffering through an impressive array of programs and grants. They have innovated plant-based hunger relief and tied issues surrounding hunger to the impacts of raising and eating animals...but they also go the extra mile by supporting animals in need as well as humans. They also provide user-friendly informational resources based on extensive research. Truly fabulous organization.
