Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To provide beds for children who are sleeping on the floor, couch, or other inadequate and appropriate situation.
Results: Started in Dec. 2009 by a then 10 year old girl, A Place to Sleep has provided beds to over 540 children as of Dec. 2014. We recently were blessed with storage space to work from and are looking for additional funds to cover utilities. To date, ALL funds have been used to purchase beds and bedding for children. No salaries or overhead are paid with funds donated specifically for the children. We are looking into separate funding for misc expenses. Still, no salaries will be paid. We operate purely on volunteers and God's will.
Target demographics: We serve children from newborn through graduating high school, with exceptions made for disabled and extreme need cases.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 2009-2; 2010-21; 2011-32; 2012-100; 2013-185; 2014-201 (as of 12/4/14)
Geographic areas served: Currently Shelby, Franklin & Henry Counties in KY. Looking to expand into other counties as ministries are established.
Programs: Programs are now operating in Shelby, Franklin and Henry County, KY.
