A Place for Peanut is full of the most kind hearted individuals. The equines saved by Megan and her team live a lavish life with plenty of humans to care and love on them. The events Megan puts on to raise money are always a blast and a great way to foster a sense of community between horse lovers. Every minute I spend at APFP makes my heart feel so warm!
I love horses this is a great nonprofit organization and look forward to supporting their efforts in the future.
A wonderful, caring and loving organization. Saving these beautiful animals is their goal. Such dedication from all who are involved.
I have had the privilege of working with Megan and have seen first hand the care she gives to the horses who were rescued from being slaughtered. You can tell they are grateful for being saved and rehabilitated. I am a huge supporter of A Place for Peanut.
This is a non-profit with a heart and a soul! The founder surrounds herself with many wonderful volunteers who help care for the horses rescued from being shipped to Mexico for slaughter. They then take some of the mini horse rescues and help rehabilitate children and adults who are sick or disabled.
I continue to be impressed with A Place for Peanut - the people, facilities, care, schedule, management. Megan Cardet, founder, has a huge heart and dedicates her life to the rescue of mini and big horses from slaughterhouses. A Place for Peanut recently rescued two mares and their babies who had foals 1-day old in the kill pen. This organization also uses the mini horses to provide therapy to children and people with disabilities. I am a huge fan of non-profits who help both animals and people.
A Place For Peanut (501C3) is a wonderful sanctuary for mainly mini horses who have been rescued from kill lots. These unwanted horses were for the most healthy until spending time at auctions and in kill pens where they might have been injured and/or developed various illnesses. Once APFP rescues these horses they are given vet care, quality food and loving socialization. Beginning in 2016 I have been a sponsor for two different horses -- one blind and the other with a birth defect. Even though I live in Ohio, the experience has been very fulfilling. APFP is the best.
“A Place for Peanut” is a phenomenal organization who’s mission is to save horses from near death and pull from kill pens where they will be sent to slaughter. I can’t express enough my admiration for the incredible work they do! We absolutely made the right decision to adopt our Mini’s from such a wonderful non profit.
I have always been a horse lover! I had the opportunity to volunteer at this wonderful organization. It is an amazing thing they are doing.. rescuing these beautiful creatures from slaughter! These kill pens should be illegal! A PLACE FOR PEANUT ROCKS!
A Place for Peanut has rescued a little pony named Winnie and has given her a home. Megan works endlessly to save kill pin horses and re-home them. This non-profit is a Haven and Megan is an Angel. Please consider donating here to contribute her mission to save, care and help horses live healthy, happy lives.
Meagan is so passionate about saving the lives of horses, nursing them to health and finding them forever homes. A Place for Peanut is operated with integrity and love.
Fabulously ran non profit! Megan loves these animals!!! Megan’s Heart is huge and wants to help these animals LIVE! Keep up the great work for the beautiful horses!!
How they make person feel. Megan is great person to talk. So much love give. Go once you’ll be hooked.
They have managed to save so many horses that were destined to be sold and shipped out of the country for food! These loving horses are amazing and have brought love to anyone that has spent time with them. This nonprofit is one of the best places that I have seen that gives value for every dollar donated !!
This charity is a godsend to horses in the slaughter pins. Megan Cardet works so hard to save these horses. I am now a feeder at the stables. When a horse comes in it is thin and scared. It is remarkable to see the difference in only 2 weeks. Of course, the horse looks better, but what is truly remarkable is the attitude. The horse becomes loved and gives that love back to all of us. This charity also does equine therapy with anyone who might be of benefit. It’s a wonderful charity. Please visit and see for yourself.
I love playing with the ponies after a long day of work . I find a great sense of peace anytime I Get the chance to love on them .
Such a loving place with amazing volunteers! A Place for Peanut rescues both Horses and Humans alike and provides a great service to the public.
Great team doing great work for rescued horses and minis. A Place for Peanut has saved many horses from the kill pen and subsequent slaughter. The founder leads with a true servants heart and always find a way to save these animals, rehab them, and give them a new life with people who will love and care for them as they deserve.

A Place for Peanut was created out of love and compassion to save horses from near death at the hand of kill pens and abusers. Through dedications, hard-work, much self-sacrifice, and grassroots effort, the founder created a safe haven for rescued horses to heal and become the magnificent creatures they are meant to be. Healing horses can also heal a community, like kids battling cancer, who can visit and feel the magic of a horse or pony. A Place for Peanut is a place of miracles because one human believed so strongly in just doing the right thing.
I started helping out at a place for Peanut thinking I would be able to use my nursing degree to help with the equine therapy. I can’t even begin to express how much more that A Place For Peanut is . Rescuing horses from the most dire of circumstances, rehabilitating them, allowing people of all ages, and the horses to mutually learn to trust. The list goes on and on, but there would never be a way to list all the wonderful things happen at A Place for Peanut.
I started out with A Place for Peanut with my work as an equine bodyworker. That quickly morphed into volunteer to being a member of the feeding team. It has been almost a year since my journey with this wonderful charity began and has become a big part of my life. I cannot say enough good things about the owner and the wonderful work she does for these deserving horses. I love A Place for Peanut!
I have worked with this group for several months. First class. The animals always come first and are so well cared for. Love, caring, and integrity.
I have seen them rescue such desperate horses and transform them into beauties and place them with loving families. Megan also shares the miniatures through equine therapy, helping scores of children. This program started out small but does tremendous work, all of it by dedicated volunteers. I heartily nominate them as the best!
I have never seen a more devoted group of people! The love and care given on a daily basis to protect and decrease the number of horses going to kill pens in Texas is outstanding!!!! Megan and all the volunteers share in a great mindset to decrease the number of horses, donkeys and animals going to slaughter!

I volunteered to visit the facility after making a financial donation. The horses were extremely well cared for. You could immediately see Megan's love for these animals. She works tirelessly with each one ensuring they are healthy or getting back to good health. She allowed us to feed them, walk them around the pasture, brush them, play with them and love on them. I was able to see my dollars at work. I left feeling extremely happy that my donation went to a good cause and helped with something I could tell Megan was passionate about. Since the visit I have recommended A Place for Peanut to others as a place that could use their support.
This nonprofit is absolutely an amazing gift for these adorable minis and an amazing gift for the community! Meghan has created a safe space for these precious animals and amazing staff to help! My husband and I are so thankful for the opportunity to volunteer and support a Place for Peanut!
This is my granddaughter, Lake, experiencing her first ride on a horse. She had a wonderful time at A Place for Peanut. I explained to her that all of the horses there were rescued. It was heartwarming to see all the beautiful animals so well cared for. I love what they are doing at A Place for Peanut and truly hope they continue for many years to come.
I so admire Megan Cardet and A Place For Peanut which serves as a sanctuary for horses rescued from the “kill” pens where they would be in imminent threat of being shipped to Canada or Mexico for slaughter. APFP blesses as many horses as possible with a second chance. Once rescued the horses are rehabilitated and some provide important therapy to children and veterans in the community while others find their way to forever homes. APFP needs your support. There are many ways to help- donate, volunteer, adopt or sponsor a horse. ❤️
This group is awesome, they have their hearts and minds in the right place. They do it right and have saved so many little guys that are cast to the pit. Thank you Megan for having a vision and working so hard to keep this up and running. Sandy and Dr. Andy Currie
I have adopted both my minis from here! Megan is a great lady and has a huge heart for these animals!
I have volunteered for A PLACE For Peanut. We bring happiness to children who are challenged by showing that animals of any shape and size are loving and special just like they are.
We have rehabilitated horses from the kill pen to loving pets.
A truly remarkable place. We love them dearly.
Megan is a true animal lover and a Place for Peanut is is an awesome facility. The rescue horses and minis are well cared for and have plenty of room for shelter and land to romp. APFP relies on donations to rehab and rehome horses. Please donate or adopt!
this organization gives hope and a future to so many ponies/mini's/horses & donkeys that would otherwise have NONE! What an amazing job all these volunteers do. These rescues require so much more than physical nourishment - they require emotional care and lots and lots of patience and LOVE! It is such a blessing that Megan and the many volunteers give all this and more.
Place for Peanut is AMAZING! The help and love they give to these beautiful babies is life saving to these sweet horses. We've gotten two cuties through them and I can't even begin to tell you how blessed we are to have these little guys. They bring us so much joy every day! If you're able, please help support this wonderful organization! And if you can adopt, you won't regret it!
Life saving equine care is provided by the team at A Place for Peanut. I just can't say enough good things about the TLC they give to miniature horses who are saved from the kill pens. These innocent horses are given veterinarian attention and lots of love. In turn, they become pint-sized therapy horses or are adopted to loving homes. A Place for Peanut is a special sanctuary thanks to volunteers with big hearts. Please consider donating to this charity so they can rescue as many precious horses as possible.
I volunteered for A Place For Peanut one day last Summer. I've never met a group of people so willing to help these beautiful animals. For centuries, humans have received services from horses and other "beasts of burden" with little or no compensation. Here, they are fed, brushed, bathed, and loved the way they deserve to be - not killed!
Megan and Joei with APFP not only rescue horses from the clutches of death, they make them a member of their families. They also give other families a chance to witness the type of unconditional love that only a horse can give. I highly commend and recommend the APFP family for your next outing.

A Place For Peanut Inc, would not be possible without the heart and soul of Megan Cardet. She has not only saved the lives of many miniature horses, but she has brought joy to countless children. Her adoption program allows families to learn what caring for an animal truly means. Megan has saved the lives of horses that have been neglected and abused.
It is pitiful to see how many horses are headed to the slaughter house. A Place For Peanut Inc saves lives, and radiates love.
It warms my heart to see children come to the stables, and interact with the horses. I think it is wonderful that special needs children come to the stables, and are filled with joy when they see and ride the horses. It is a magical place where animals are saved from death, and where parents and children can learn together what it means to love and respect life. It teaches children that although there are some very cruel people in the world, there are angels like Megan Cardet who work hard to preserve life.
It takes other kind hearted people, to get the word out that funds need to be raised. Without the kindness of donors, charities like A PlaceFor Peanut Inc would not exist. If Megan and her volunteers can be up at the crack of dawn feeding and grooming the horses, I feel that making a donation is easy. Donations are also a necessity to keep these animals fed, cared for, and loved.
In honor of Bob Allen, co founder of A Place For Peanuts, I ask that the sports community to step up and donate.
I represent the NFL wives past and present, in making a donation to A Place For Peanut Inc.

I live in Dalhart, Tx - a long way from Houston - but Megan is friends with my son and daughter-in-law and we are avid animal lovers. They told me what Megan was doing to save these precious horses during the flooding. I gave a small donation but I follow A Place for Peanut every day. I am amazed by her love, tireless work and efforts to rescue and save these horses. It would be wonderful if everyone cared and loved the way Megan does. I love to read about the ones that go to their new homes and are loved by children and taught how to treat animals. They are God's creatures so we are to treat them as such. Megan is truly a blessing to these animals and to all that know her personally. I hope to meet her soon!!! Nell Summerour
I've been watching Megan Cardet's Facebook posts about A Place for Peanut, and the one thing that always strikes me is her and the organization's PASSION to save these beautiful horses. When I see photos of A Place for Peanut's horses, it breaks my heart that these animals have been abused or neglected, and would often be dead if not rescued by a Place for Peanut. Truly, this organization's heart is to save and restore horses where they'll survive and thrive. What a blessing to have a guardian angel looking after these horses. There is not a more caring, compassionate organization around, I don't think.
We at the Animal Emergency Endowment have worked with Megan and the staff of a Place For Peanut multiple times. We find their mission to be such a worthy cause not only saving the animals from slaughter but training some to be of service to others!
I would recommend A Place for Peanut for both rescue and adoption!
As a fellow nonprofit equine rescue we feel A Place For Peanut is definitely above average! TMMES has worked with this rescue via FaceBook on several rescue operations as well as trying to help them during a flood.
I would highly recommend them for rescue and adoptions.

We adopted Sweet Pea and Picasso a year ago. We adopted them from "A Place for Peanut". A Place for Peanut recused them from a slaughter pen. They had been starved and severely neglected. Megan and her volunteers nursed them back to health and we were thrilled to provide them with a new forever home! Great organization doing great work!
