I have been actively volunteering with ALTSO for the last few years and it has been such an amazing experience. ALTSO’s impact on its CoolKids’ lives is so profound and I am so proud to contribute to their cause.
I've had the honor of volunteering with ALTSO for almost 8 years. When I first learned about their mission and the work they do, it was easy to support them. I'm amazed at what their lean team has accomplished over 20 years - they keep their focus on the CoolKids they support and do things in a meaningful, transparent and impactful way. The children they serve live in remote areas of developing countries, which means for donors and supporters, it isn't really possible to write letters or communicate directly with them. However, ALTSO does a great job of making people in their network feel connected to the CoolKids - through regular stories and updates from their trips. It's amazing to hear about kids like Bhupendra, who received his first prosthetic limb in 2006 as an 8-year old and now is college graduate. The ALTSO team are a joy to work with and I am so proud of the work they do.
When I learned about ALTSO's mission supporting #CoolKids, I immediately got involved many years ago. Amazing to see how much the org and its direct impact has grown globally since inception. Fast forward to 2023, excited to celebrate ALTSO's 20th Anniversary. Kudos and thank you to ALTSO for all that you do! Can't wait to see what the next 20 years brings. -GG
I have had the privilege of attending several A Leg To Stand On fundraising events and made regular contributions since discovering it five years ago. What stands out most to me is that ALTSO doesn’t helicopter in to provide one-time treatments, but partners with local clinics so patients can get high-quality care for their entire childhood and adolescence, changing the trajectory of their lives. This transformative impact is accomplished by a dedicated and talented staff who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting at their events.
I have been working with ALTSO since 2006. I have been a performer, raised sponsorship funds, sold tickets, and got donations and promoted on Social Media for over ten years. ALTSO is a charity that goes above and beyond regarding achievements, meeting goals, and serving children in need worldwide, all on a limited budget and with minimal and fantastic staff. I highly recommend them to all!
I have been involved in A Leg To Stand On since it’s inception over 20 years ago. The number of people helped is deceptively low, because it only counts the children that were treated. However, it’s not just the child that receives a new lease on life after treatment, the tremendous emotional relief and new found joy is experienced by the entire family. It’s an incredible blessing!
I'm truly impressed by the incredible work that ALTSO does for the Cool Kids around the world. It's remarkable to see the impact they create in each child they reach. Their commitment and resourcefulness are truly inspiring. The team at ALTSO has an extraordinary ability to maximize every opportunity and make a significant difference in the kids they serve. Their dedication to their mission and the results they achieve is a testament to their unwavering passion and effectiveness. I am proud to be a supporter and volunteer of this amazing org.
I've been watching ALTSO grow for over 20 years, and as great as they are, they keep getting even better. The staff is the most passionate, committed group of professionals I've worked with. Impeccable integrity, devoted to the mission, highly responsible and continuously seeking ways to improve. Deep bow to ALTSO and three cheers to all the Cool Kids they serve! -Cathy Carroll
ALTSO is a phenomenal charity that helps children with limb disabilities by providing free orthopedic limbs and appropriately fitted wheelchairs. This has extensive and positive impact to the children, their families and communities by transforming mobility, giving confidence, and leveling the playing field. ALTSO team and volunteers work hard to execute annual goals and obtain funding needed. Please consider making a donation to make a difference and learn more on how you can get involved.
