My experience wit A Hand Up NOVA began in 2017 when I created a diaper drive on Black Friday called cover them butts. Once we started the process of preparing support a non profit each year, we had no idea how great the need for diapers around the world is.
Through A Hand Up NOVA and the Northern Virginia Diaper Bank we see first hand how this organization's passion, diligence, and perseverance bring much needed resources to the families is our region that so desperately need assistance.
Diapers are a high demand and high cost necessity for many in the area. The cost of diapers is competing for available resources each week for many families in the community. This is even before COVID-19 challenges to their thin resources. We feel very blessed to partner with the NOVA Diaper Bank over the past few years to help reduce this expense. Through our Grace Ministries program at SUMC, we typically distribute almost 25,000 diapers a year. We are just one of the places that they help supply diapers to our community. We see the need at each distribution, see their appreciation when we have the diapers that they need and the disappointment when we don’t. Please consider giving to the local drives and supporting this organization and their support of our community.

What a gift A Hand Up-Nova Inc is! As a Parent Liaison at an elementary school, I see first hand the need for diapers and to be able to provide diapers and wipes to families that are struggling is a huge deal. It has been crucial for families to have this supplement every month. I have a family who had babies that were 14 months apart and this program has been critical in helping mom have that extra supply, especially during this incredibly challenging year. I am extremely grateful for all that Susan Mullen and A Hand Up -Nova Inc has done for our families. Thank you!
A Hand up -- NOVA Inc, also known as the Northern Virginia Diaper Bank is an incredible group of people ensuring that every family that needs diapers for their little one gets them. They work tirelessly as volunteers to ensure that the enormous need is met. As Executive Director of another nonprofit, we did a diaper drive for this fine organization in the Spring of 2020. We were able to provide them with over 51,000 diapers. Sadly they needed to distribute that many diapers in just a couple of months and then again faced huge need. They work tirelessly and selflessly, they partner beautifully with the local public school system to find the families who are in need and fill that need, and they are genuinely some of the best people I have ever met. If you are looking for a nonprofit to support I highly recommend this one!
A Hand Up and Northern Virginia Diaper Bank has helped our pregnant and parenting high school students by showing them that people care about their futures. When students receive donated diapers, they have one less worry and the support of all who donated behind them. During the pandemic, we have personally delivered diapers to students who could not arrange to pick up and this enabled us to say hi from a distance while assuring them that they can do hard things! I am so proud to say that our pregnant and parenting students are attending, engaging and progressing during this unsettled time. Thank you A Hand Up and Northern Virginia Diaper Bank!!!
A Hand Up - Nova Inc. has been a lifesaver for our young families. Living in affordable housing often leaves families with little money for basic necessities like diapers and wipes. Because of the generous monthly donations of these items from A Hand Up - Nova Inc., Windy Hill Foundation has been able to consistently provide needy families with at least one package of diapers and wipes each month every month for the past year. Is one package enough to sustain a family with a child in diapers? No, of course not. But it is definitely enough to help stretch that family's budget just a bit further.
A Hand Up -Nova Inc has been helping to bring diapers to students and families across Loudoun county for a number of years. Our school has utilized their services in getting diapers for our students who had to deal with the realities of parenthood while still navigating high school. Getting those diapers helped them take one thing off their plate so they could focus on the baby and their school work. We so appreciate everything they have done to help ease those realities for our students, even if just a little bit. Thank you so much!!!
NOVA Diaper Bank is an amazing partner for INMED Partnerships for Children. The NOVA diaper bank helps more then 200 families with diapers. They are always willing to help the community. They offer support to families all around Loudoun county. Thank you !
A Hand Up - Nova Inc has been an invaluable resource for the families at the elementary schools I serve. As a school social worker, I am always looking for supports; diapers are a significant expense for families who are already struggling with food insecurity and other financial challenges. A Hand Up - Nova is always willing to help and they are as flexible as they can be in getting resources to families, especially during COVID. My families are grateful, and so am I. Thank you to A Hand Up - Nova!
