Causes: Family Services, Human Services
Mission: A family place provides children and family services to brooklyn residents. Our main activity is the provision of tutoring and other academic enrichment services to children in grades k-12.
Programs: In 2012, a family place provided tutorial services to approximately 150 students. Thirty-seven children were enrolled in the saturday tutorial program and a family place contracted with a brooklyn-based charter school to serve 110 students in grade k-8. All students enrolled in the program demonstrated improvements in ela and math. The charter school was removed from the list of sini schools (schools in need of improvement). A family place also ran a summer academic enrichment program at the same charter during the months of july and august, 2012
a family place provided supplemental education services to students in grades k-12 from various brooklyn schools. Parents reported improvement in student performance in ela/math and general overall performance.
