I can't say enough good things about Bright Spot. As a veteran, who just a short time ago, was serving overseas, I received support with letters and care packages when I desperately needed it. I was so fortunate to have been the recipient of such kindness. Huge thank you again to DeeDee and all of the awesome volunteers.

This organization is small but mighty. It brings smiles to so many people who need a kind word! I became a board member very quickly after joining as a volunteer because I truly believe in the power of the written word. The volunteers are truly special and the organization thrives because of them.

There are a lot of card ministries. This one is by far the best. They serve so many different kind of people and make it fun to volunteer. It's like the clearinghouse of card support. Others just focus on one type of people- cancer, seniors etc- this place does it ALL and more. Support them by donating some dollars for their postage costs thats all they really need. Stickers are handy too. Help them spread love to everyone who needs a reminder. thousands have been touched by this organization. A plus in my book and worth of my donation.
Couldn’t love this nonprofit more!! What a fantastic organization run by fantastic individuals. They created this organization simply to spread joy to others and put smiles on faces who need them. Through their dedication, and the volunteer support they enlist, they send cards to thousands of people. Literally thousands. Anyone can ask for cards, and they don’t turn people away. My wife asked for a card for a family member in the hospital, and they didn’t hesitate. They sent it out right away. As former military, love that they send them to the men and women serving our country, veterans/etc. also love that they send cards to sick children in the hospital. Those kids deserve all the smiles and support we can give them. Love this organization!
Such a great organization! They spread joy to so many people throughout the year—children, seniors, military personnel, people in need, etc. it’s all done out of the kindness of their hearts, their hard work and dedication, and the efforts of volunteers. I have seen the positive influence they have had on others. Their support and dedication means so much to so many!

The simple nature of this organization clearly "punches above its weight" in the way it touches lives. It has not only had a tremendous impact for the recipients, but as a volunteer it has given us a renewed since of spirit and gratification to serve those who just need a kind word to know that they are loved.

Making cards was super fun and working with A Bright Spot was a very communicative and uplifting experience for me. These cards go to others to brighten their day and that is an organization I can proudly get behind. A Bright Spot has added so many bright spots to our community and my life. The founder DeeDee is non-stop giving energy to keep gathering resources and sending so many hand-written cards. All the board members are super involved and I enjoy seeing them while creating magical cards for all.

I learned about this organization as I was searching for a volunteer opportunity. After learning more about A Bright Spot and how easy it is to be involved by simply signing up for a particular card incentive, I know I found the perfect opportunity for me. Not only do the volunteers receive those 'feel-good' endorphins that they are making a happy difference, but more so for the recipients of the cards that is unexpected and joyful. I will continue to volunteer.

A Bright Spot is a wonderful organization to volunteer with! They provide a great variety of causes to create cards for, and are extremely prompt in communicating with you! I had a lovely experience volunteering with them to complete my service hours. Highly recommend!
This is a wonderful "easy" button for groups like scouts, women's groups etc that like to help their community. Make some cards and send them to A bright spot- they make sure they get to who needs the cheer the most. Donors help cover the postage so if you can spare some stamps send them their way!

I’m Rachel Bennett, founder of Caring by Card, and organization and soon-to-be non-profit that aims to alleviate the loneliness elderly and disabled people who live in nursing homes feel by inspiring people to make and send homemade cards to the nursing homes we sponsor each month. A Bright Spot has collaborated with us several times. Most recently, A Bright Spot volunteers shipped out 70 homemade cards to the Manor Care Nursing Home in Arkansas! We needed them done and Dee reached out to her team and within days they were mailed. They are an amazing organization which sends cards to people who are suffering and need some love and they do exactly what they promise in their name: Deliver a Bright Spot in someone’s day, especially those who need it most! I have worked as a volunteer with ABrightSpot for two different projects, they are an incredibly organized organization and respond in a very timely manner. I will definitely be working on more projects with Dee Dee and the team. Overall, it was a great experience.
I come from a time when pen pals were a valued method to connect with others and handwritten letters were like treasues in the mailbox. A Bright Spot shares precious words of kindness and messages of hope to reach our communities. Penmanship can be an art form and A Bright Spot allows me to send a little joy and smile to both children and adults!
As an Activity Assistant and Coordinator, for 21 years, I can tell you that residents love getting cards, letters, and mail. Many of them have no friends or family. What makes A Bright Spot special, is they come from different states and countries. Staff are always sure to tell them where they came from. It always brings a smile to their face. I love this so much! So many people are lonely or feel unloved. When you receive something in the mail when it isn't your birthday or special occasion- it makes you stop and wonder. All your troubles disappear for that one moment in the day. Thats exactly what this charity does- provides that moment. Awesome awesome awesome!

ABS has helped our community in so many ways from brightening the day of elderly, children in the hospital, and people experiencing down moments in life to bringing the community together. Recently, I aided them in two card writing drives--one for our fire fighters impacted by a tragedy and one for our local emergency personnel. The community they draw together is nice, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to include everyone.

I was fortunate to have found A Bright Spot. When my wife passed away, I found myself with hundreds of greeting cards I didn't know what to do with. I didn't want to just put them in recycling. So when I found A Bright Spot I was thrilled. Here was a GREAT place to put those cards to good use spreading a little joy and compassion. I know my wife is smiling down from heaven knowing that her collection was doing something worth while.

Chariots of Honor, a non-profit that honors military veterans birthdays and military service with honor procession, has partnered with A Bright Spot since 2022. We love A Bright Spot because they truly honor our veterans.

A Bright Spot is a phenomenal organization making a difference in lives one card and one stamp at a time. This small organization, under the direction of founder, Dee Dee Schrader, has made a simple, yet profound impact on the lives of thousands of lonely, sick, discouraged, or even forgotten celebratory moments (homeless to housed!). This is a rare volunteer opportunity for those of us with access issues; how simple it is to write a note of encouragement in a store-bought or homemade card to make someone else smile and make yourself smile at the same time. This non-profit deserves to be recognized and hopefully brought into the limelight to attract more volunteers and people needing encouragement.
