I heard about a Student Money Expo on 94.5 and called the radio station to learn more about. I did not know there was an organization devoted to kids. money, and financial life skills based in Orlando, FL. I canceled all my Saturday plans to take my son and daughter that attend Apopka High School. I was amazed at all the students were involved and able to finally "get it" in a partial way. Also, there were workshops for parents and someone won a prize of a bill paid on the spot!!! Who does that and most important why hasn't it been done before??? I applaud this organization and looking forward to many more events.
The impact 8 Cents in a Jar is having on the students and the community is contagious. As the student becomes excited and discover how to save money, it flows on to the parent then the community.
We need more organizations that provide a direct impact and difference.
The work this organization is doing is truly amazing! I've attended financial literacy courses before and always felt the presenters spoke down to students and their audience. The speakers and programs offered not only empowers you, but gives you at least 8 practical tips that can be incorporated into your life on the spot. Great organization to work with.
