I needed some assistance with a very difficult situation I am dealing with and I was recommend 5th squad as a means to help alleviate some of the problems that I had been facing. They were able to help me out for a week and the help was almost immediate. We had to communicate over emails and it was a little tricky at first but everything wound up working out perfectly. And it allowed me to freshen up on email etiquette. Everyone was so understanding and helpful! I think what 5th squad is doing to better assist is commendable and definitely appreciated. There aren’t many entities that are willing to provide that immediate help to veterans. Thank you all for everything that you did for me and that you’ve done for other veterans! However, it brought to my attention a very serious problem among veterans. There isn’t a lot of help that is available to assist them in times of need or to help in a crisis! And If there is help, there is a limit on the help they can receive. Sometimes when people are in tough situations, they may need assistance for longevity and not just a temporary fix. Not saying the assistance isn’t needed or appreciated. But something that would allow long term help if need be, to those that need it would be helpful for our veterans as well! I would love to volunteer or help out in any way that I can. I believe 5th squad has the opportunity to touch a lot more veterans with their mission, and possibly be even bigger than they already are! I am a veteran, a dad, and a full-time student. I was struggling due to some unplanned challenges that had come up, and I was already behind on my electric bill so the electric company turned off our power. I was stressed and unsure of what to do as I am on a fixed income. I was referred to 5th Squad by the Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF) and after only a short conversation and providing some documents, 5th Squad immediately jumped into action and within 20 minutes, my daughter and I felt the air conditioner turn back on. 5th Squad is a blessing and a godsend. To us, this meant the world. These are dedicated people and proud of what they do to be able to help. I’m leaving this review in hopes that anyone who is struggling will see this and reach out to 5th Squad. This company by far is what people say it is. Just a great group of veterans helping veterans out. Due to a financial situation with my wife being out of work due to maternity leave, I was struggling to keep up to say the least. A utility bill was due to be disconnected right before I got paid and when you have lots of little one's you know this is not an answer. This organization stepped in and saved the day for me as easy as I am typing this paragraph and took that stress off of me. Thank you 5th squad for everything!!!

My words can't express enough how truly amazing 5th Squad is. Me and my wife recently moved back to our home state and had a very important storage bill that got away from us with our currently limited budget. Luckily, my local VA gave me the contact info for 5th Squad to see if they could help us with the matter. Within 24 hours, not only had they already made contact with me, but sent me a few forms to fill out and send back in. Very very easy stuff. The whole process took me maybe 10 minutes to do. Roughly 24 hours or so later my wife received a conformation from the storage facility that our bill had been paid in full and an email from 5th Squad stating the same thing. 5th Squad, what you guys are doing for veterans who are in a bad spot is going above and beyond what it means to be selfless and human. When me and my family are back on our feet and doing great again, I will with out doubt be looking for a way to make donations to 5th Squad to help future veterans in need like we so desperately were. As a Veteran who left the service after more than 20 years I missed that bond with my fellow soldiers and I was in a bad place mentally. Having a group like 5th Squad to be involved with has saved me. The feeling of knowing I'm not alone, and that I am having a real impact helping my fellow Veterans is what gets me out of bed everyday. I know I'm not alone when I say 5th Squad saved my life.
I’ve seen countless times were 5th Squad has helped Veterans and currently serving military personnel in their time of need and that is why I donate time and money to help this organization grow. Anything from paying rent, utilities, or putting food on the table, they are there for our Veterans. So as long as I’m able I will give to them.
I have had the opportunity to request assistance of 5th squad for a service member. They were very professional and expedited the assistance. When a non-profit gives as much of themselves as 5th squad does it places them at the lead of the pack. I highly recommend anyone wanting to help where it makes so much of a difference in service members lives, please support them.
I’m a volunteer for this group and representative for them on the Coast of Mississippi. I found out about them at a veteran event and started to follow them on social media. 5th Squad is the best veteran support organization by far. When a veteran is down on their luck in need of immediate assistance and other organizations either can't help or have a lengthy process, 5th Squad is there to pick up the slack. They provide immediate, life sustaining support without all of the red tape most others require. I also like that 5th Squad never pays the veteran, they pay the bill collector on behalf of the veteran.

When I had nowhere to turn, and no other group could help me, these guys did the impossible and saved me and my family. I thank God for them everyday, and as soon as I am able I will be giving back so they can continue what they do.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I noticed that many of my
fellow service members were struggling to make ends meet due to
the Stay-at-Home order preventing them from going to work.
Some had to make tough choices between paying for utilities or
providing food for their families. It motivated me to look into ways
to help my brothers and sisters in need. I came across 5th Squad
on Facebook and contacted them to see if I could volunteer my
services. I couldn't ask for a better Nonprofit charity to give my time to.

Its not how it doing, it is always how it starts. I was asked to head up the veterans community NPO development group in Mississippi for this company to reach out to support groups to find ways of donating time and our products to raffle to raise monies to help Veterans and their families.
As a sponsor to sit down with this group to develop that relationship was one of the best decisions that has helped this great group get a lot more help out to those whom need it. It was also a plus that my Wife and I had already met this group through mutual friends.
So Long ago in a pizza joint not far from home, several members and myself discussed ways the Company I worked for could support them with the key concept "Go Big or Go Home".
So on that day over Pizza and Beer, we developed a plan and it has been a great ride since in helping this group raise money for a great cause. So, to say the least, it went BIG.
The 5th Group can and will emerge from just one state to others with a dynamic model to help those in uniform and Veterans & families and it is easy to see that future.

5th Squad is my charity of choice due to the mission and the transparency in the organization. Their passion for the cause is infectious and the organization really does provide a service that no other organization in the veteran’s realm does and that is cutting through the red tape and delivering nearly instant aid for those veterans in need. It cannot be overstated how much this is needed. The money raised ends up where it belongs, in the hands of vets and that’s why I proudly put my money and my time behind 5th Squad.
