The 5 Cities Homeless Coalition is an organization whose mission is to provide hope for those who are either without homes or are in danger of losing their home. 5CHC provides proactive outreach, fosters working relationships with local landlords, helps clients with paperwork and security deposits, and so much more! The staff, many of whom are bilingual, are thoughtful, friendly, and eager to serve. I am grateful to have such a responsive, effective, and dedicated organization in our community, and I am honored to sit on its board of directors. In short, 5CHC is doing much good!
As the Chief of Police for the City of Arroyo Grande, I'm pleased to have a partnership with 5CHC. For those people and others who need help, homeless shelters serve vital needs that provide a sense of stability and normalcy as well as providing services, connection, and the help that people need to find stable housing again. The staff and board of 5CHC truly focus on helping people rebuild their lives and get back on a path to success.
This is an organization that I wanted to get involved in because of the great work they do, and will continue to volunteer and donate to them even when my time has passed on the Board. Staff, directors, volunteers, and everybody else involved with this organization understand the complexity and importance of ending homelessness and show extreme empathy, dignity and passion to those in need. It is extremely hard work, emotionally and physically, but they do it.
As work with this team, they prove time and time again that they not only care, but they are trying to do the right thing, in the right way, to help their clients be successful for the long term. It is rewarding to be associated with this organization.
