55 Kipling Center is one of the best places for seniors! They always have an activity or outing going on. Always clean and decorated beautifully.
The staff headed by Peggy Merli are warm and welcoming!
There is no doubt that the Kip Center will be a place of happiness for all who enter through its doors.
It has something for everyone - and the joy is felt by all who work, volunteer, play, eat, learn, exercise and have fun here!
I briefly worked at Kip teaching computers years ago. Having been in the center many times I can assure you that Kip Senior Center has a great vibe - it is alive with people who are interested in learning and connecting and doing. What a social networking opportunity for someone who is retired or working but not meeting new people... The programs there are always evolving with the times and the smiles you see and the energy you feel when you go inside are proof positive that what they are doing there is making the seniors very happy... Highly recommend...
My mom has always appreciated what you've done in the way of events. She especially has loved the Christmas trees you can bid on.
My mother attends the exercise program. Anna the instructor is fabulous. She exercises every part of your body! Thank you Anna for this great class for my mom .
55 Kip Center is such a wonderful place. From the seniors to the staff to the volunteers, you couldn't find a more pleasant place to visit! 55 Kip Center is a breath of fresh air and a loving, caring place for senior citizens and their caretakers. 55 Kip Center is that essential gateway that connects older adults to vital community services and programs that can help them stay healthy and independent. This is exactly the place you would want your mom or dad or grandparents to be a part of!
55 Kip Center is a joy to be involved with. The members are happy to have such a great place to enjoy the company of others and participate in various programs. As a Board member I enjoy interacting with the members and helping our great staff with whatever is needed. This organization exceeds all standards of accomplishment through the hard work of Executive Director, Assistant Director and Program Coordinator. I am happy to be associated with this organization that not only helps our seniors thrive but improves the quality of life for all in our town.

Our Kip Center is a haven for the seniors not only living in our town but surrounding ones as well. It is a vibrant and extremely active place for our seniors to congregate in, exercise, have informative discussions, paint, crochet and enjoy a hot meal. Our volunteers run the gamut from teenagers to elders who enjoy each others company as well. The staff and Executive Director who I have the pleasure of working with are totally focused on providing five star programs and activities for all our members. I am very proud to be, not only a Board member, but a member of the center itself. It is a place of comfort for those who need it, a place of activity for those who want to be involved and a place to meet new people. How lucky we are in Rutherford, New Jersey to be the only senior center in Northern New Jersey to be acknowledged for providing excellence in this field.
My 93 year old Mother is very active with the 55 Kip Center exercise programs. When the center closes for 1 week twice a year she doesn't know what to do with herself. The Kip Center is very important to her.
I have enjoyed learning about how important fund raising is for non-profit organizations, watching the enthusiasm seniors exhibit during exercise classes, meetings and fund raising events. It is rewarding to watch the extremely committed and passionate staff perform their jobs with great attention to the needs of the senior community they serve.
As a broadcast journalist, I receive a lot of speaking invitations. But the ones I always reply to come from the 55 Kip Center. I am always impressed by the warm relationship between the staff members and the people who frequent Center. It provides a wide range of essential services that have a tremendous impact on the quality of life of their clients. Equally important is the way they deliver those services, treating everyone with dignity and respect. Folks seem to smile a lot there. I can't think of a better metric to measure success.
I am both a volunteer and client served at 55 KIP CENTER. The Staff is extremely professional yet caring and compassionate -- sensitive to individual needs. For the third consecutive year, the Center has earned State accreditation. That makes us all proud!
For many the Center is an extended family.
The Mission at 55 KIP is "KEEPING SENIORS AGELESS". The diversity, of programs and activities offered, exercise, dance, art, current events discussion groups and many others, are conducive to the mission. For many, the Center is an extended family. I am proud and grateful for the opportunity to
be associated with a wonderful place.
I have been a volunteer (Art Teacher) here at Kip for just over 7 years. While working here at KIP I have been granted many honors including Art and volunteer hour awards. At KIP I have been granted the honor of working with people from all over the spectrum of age ranges and backgrounds. KIP is a very diversified community of people ranging from the ages of 40+ focusing on adult activities.
I have many stories from working here at KIP, the best of which relates to a student who had no confidence in herself. While working with her for the past 7 years, I have gotten her to come out of her skin, no thanks to the great home she has found at KIP. And thanks to the joint efforts we have made, a day never goes by without seeing a smile on her face.
But that is true with all things here at KIP, we are more then just a simple senior activity center we are a true community. We know more than each others face, we know each others names and stories. KIP boasts about keeping "seniors ageless" but what they don't boast about is how they are here for more then just an activity. MOST CENTERS in the area are just for business or to make a quick buck, but here at KIP there is so much more... it is a home.
I have been attending various classes at 55 Kip Center since I retired, 14 years ago. Classes are
professionally run, reasonable in cost, and a lot of fun. The staff members and volunteers all go way
beyond their job descriptions in creating a sense of community and caring at the Center. The active
80 and 90 year old seniors are wonderful role models, with the varied programs at Kip contributing towards their vitality.
I recently joined the 55 Kip Center along with my very energetic 96 yr old mother-in-law. We are so happy that we found such a wonderful place for her weekly bridge games. The members and the Staff made her feel more than welcome. I am very impressed with all the Center has to offer. The staff is fantastic. Although I haven't yet participated in any events, I look forward to becoming more involved as both a member and a volunteer. Love their motto "Age Wisely"!
55 Kip Center is an extraordinary place. I love the energy I feel when I walk through the door. It's the antithesis of what you think a Senior Center would be like. I hope to enjoy the programs and activities myself when I retire.
I enjoy my exercize class and my bridge group and socializing with all of the people at Kip. I also enjoy all of the trips.
Love the Kip Center! My 92 year old mom is an active senior, and spends countless hours playing bridge, taking body strengthening classes, taking trips to plays in NYC and casinos in Atlantic City and PA, and a wonderful 4 day trip to Wildwood every year. How lucky am I to accompany her and her Kip friends on the Wildwood trip--we have a blast, going on a boat ride, going to a Senior Banquet with other senior organizations from throughout the state etc. They are a wonderful group, with a full range of activities to keep our seniors "young" in body and spirit. They are even offering classes to younger seniors in the evenings such as Zumba classes! Can't say enough about the loving environment they provide for our seniors, and that is reflective of the very caring Director, Peggy and her staff. It's a great place to volunteer and an even better place to spend time with friends old and new.
55 Kip Center is an amazing place. It provides social and fitness for area seniors at very reasonable fees. They also serve a hot meal 4 days a week. It is conveniently locatedext to a senior residence in Rutherford's downtown. The Kip Center serves seniors from the entire area, not just Rutherford. These seniors would be lost without the Kip Center.
