Programs: The three largest cost centers for manchester bidwell corporation (mbc) in fiscal year 2013-14 were administration, finance, and facilities. Following are accomplishments related to these areas in fiscal year 2013-14:in fiscal year 2013-14, mbc replaced all personal computers (pcs) that were still running microsoft's xp operating system, which was no longer supported as of april 2014. Replacing these pcs gives mbc time to plan better for future obsolescence. Mbc also installed a new alarm system in all three buildings on its campus, helping to unify the security system. The floors and carpeting in administration areas and the jesse w. Fife jr. Boardroom were replaced. The bricks were repointed and windows resealed at the main building, helping to address energy efficiency issues. In fiscal year 2013-14, mbc also engaged in a feasibility study to determine the potential viability and sustainability of a new adult career training program through which area adults in transition could receive training for entry-level careers in the field of manufacturing. Lastly, in november 2013, the london financial times printed an article by editor john thornhill entitled "bill's school of revolution," which was an in-depth look at manchester bidwell corporation and efforts to replication the manchester bidwell educational model across the united states and around the world through the national center for arts & technology.

Manchester-Bidwell operates several educational and job training programs for disadvantaged young people and early adults in Pittsburgh. Manchester-Bidwell's ethical principles for how they deal with the people they serve - Embrace, Respect, Listen and Influence - are very impressive. Manchester-Bidwell's training areas include the arts (ceramics, digital arts/animation) and preparation for professional employment in culinary arts, horticulture (nurseries, commercial farms, landscaping), chemistry (pharmacist's assistants, lab employees for pharmaceutical companies), medical technicians. My overall impression is that Manchester-Bidwell is an extraordinary organization.
