I have been collaborating with The 4shayj Foundation for several years. The Foundation has supported my middle school students and is now saving the lives of my elementary students. The interactions and engagements with students are fantastic and genuine. I love driving through La Quinta and Palm Desert and seeing the green helmets being worn!

The Clarks came to present at our school site. Coach Clark is a great speaker and had the attention of our 830 students! Many students were touched by their personal story and changed their minds about wearing helmets. We had over 150 students write letters on how the ShayJ story changed their minds about helmet safety. Many of our students requested helmets and promised to wear them with pride.

This is a great foundation honoring my grandson. I try to be into everything that they have going on. It has already saved a couple children and that’s what it is all about.

This is a selfless mom-and-pop charity donating safety helmets to young folks to reduce head injuries and deaths when riding on scooters, skateboards, etc. They also give school presentations to discuss helmet safety and to learn the lesson about their son, whom was killed and wasn't wearing a helmet when he should've been. Thank you for my helmet, 4ShayJ! Much appreciated.

Amazing charity - helping so many and has already saved lives.

Organizers, Shaun and Ginger Clark work tirelessly and passionately informing youths of the importance of wearing a helmet when cycling or boarding.

They have experienced very strong support in the Palm Springs area among friends, business associates and Shaun's customers.

Shaun Clark Jr. was my nephew. He was a remarkably joyful, kind, hardworking, intelligent, and resilient young man. Always a pleasure to be around and a young person who inspired hope. His death was an unspeakable tragedy. Almost immediately his mother and father channeled their grief into doing what they could to prevent others from this tragedy. His father said, "If we could save just one child, it will have been worth it." Such generativity is the seedbed for great humans and a great society. In just a few years the 4shayj Foundation has given away over 8,000 helmets. Shaun's father, Shaun Clark Sr., has visited dozens of schools sharing the message, "Always wear a helmet. Save lives." He and his wife Ginger have spent 1,000s of hours working to donate helmets and to, literally, upend the culture. "Our goal, Shaun Sr. says, "is to change the culture from 'it's not cool to wear a helmet' to 'it's not cool not to wear a helmet.'" Already in the Coachella Valley they are making an impact. Drive around the neighborhood and you will see skateboarders and bicyclists wearing the 4shayj helmets. Not only is that "cool," but already they have stories of children in accidents who were saved from head trauma, and probably saved their lives, because they were wearing the 4shayj helmet that was donated to them.

The 4shayj Foundation has provided safety helmets for so many children all over this valley at no cost to them. I have been driving down busy roads and noticed kids riding their bikes, wearing the familiar green helmets that the 4shayj Foundation provides at no charge.

The news reported how a boy's life was saved because he was wearing his green helmet when a car hit him while riding his bike.

It's always a challenge raising funds to buy the needed helmets. I have helped with the fundraising myself, and I personally know the sacrifice the Foundation family makes in order to provide these helmets at no charge.

Shaun & Ginger Clark donate so much time and money to make this foundation what it is today. We ask for help in this great work. Too many children are unprotected while riding their bikes and skateboards. Will you join us?

The 4ShayJ foundation has taken a tragic situation and turned it into an educational experience for the kids in our community. The time and effort that goes into the educating and protection of our children is unbelievable. The message that they share is important and very powerful! There have been two children who's lives have been saved, that they know of, from the message that they deliver. Please support and help the 4ShayJ foundation change families lives for years to come!

A skateboarder involved in an accident in Cathedral City last week was saved from serious injury by wearing a helmet from the 4Shayj Foundation. According to Cathedral City police, 13-year-old Gabriel Ozuna was skateboarding across Dinah Shore Drive in a crosswalk, but the crosswalk lights stopped flashing before Ozuna made it across. He was then struck by a vehicle.

The impact sent Ozuna flying about 20 feet away, and he hit his head on the pavement. Fortunately, the helmet he was wearing took the brunt of the impact. Ozuna fractured his arm in two places and suffered some facial bruises and abrasions. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but was well enough to visit the Cathedral City public administration building the next day for an interview.

4Shayj Foundation Dedicated to Saving Lives

An Indio family lost their 19-year-old son in a skateboarding accident in 2015. Shaun Clark Jr. was skateboarding when he was struck by an SUV in Indio. Clark Jr.—or Shayj, as he was called by loved ones—wasn’t wearing a helmet the night he was killed. He died from the head wound he sustained when his head struck the pavement.

In honor of their son, the Clark family began the 4Shayj Foundation in an effort to protect other kids. The foundation gives away free helmets to children who don’t have access to one. The 4Shayj Foundation works with local schools and organizations to provide children with helmets and teach them about the importance of wearing a helmet. Businesses and individuals who want to help can also provide a helmet for a child for $40.

Ozuma received a neon green 4Shayj helmet last year. The helmet saved the 13-year-old from major head trauma. In fact, it might have even saved his life. Ozuma got to meet two members of Shaun Clark Jr.’s family the day after the accident.

I've known Shawn and ginger for several years now.

Before they started this wonderful non profit foundation, they were just like you and me, going about their busy lives, working, praying and raising a family. Really special people.

Tragedy struck. These two really special people carried on, but with one amazing difference. They now dedicate most of their busy lives to ensure their tragedy never becomes yours.

Their optimism and positive reinforcement never wavers.

God bless you both and 4shayj foundation.
