We are a group of Veterans and friends that were stationed with the 46th Special Forces Company (Abn.) in Thailand during the 60's and 70's. We also have a number of associate members who are friends that help support our two main programs. Our first program is our Remote Schools Program which started over 45 years ago when we were stationed in Thailand. We now support 26 Schools in very remote locations in Thailand. Most of the schools are in very poor areas of the country and we support them by providing Fish Farms and Gardens where they raise fish and grow vegetables to provide food for the children and sell the excess in local markets to raise money for school supplies. We also have stateside friends/visitors that go to Thailand (at their own expense) to teach the children English and bring school supplies.
Our second program is our semiannual Wounded Warrior Cruise program where we provide a free cabin to our Wounded Warriors and their spouses or significant others on a 7 day Caribbean Cruise. This year we are hoping to raise enough money to provide 50 cabins to our Wounded Warriors from all branches of the military. Our next Cruise will be our 5th and will be in November of 2015 as it takes us two years to raise enough funds to provide the cabins.
All of our board personnel are Volunteers and we have no paid employees. Many of our friends volunteer their time and come on the cruise to support our Wounded Warriors.
All donations go to whatever program the donor dictates and all of our volunteers are also donors. membership is open to all who are interested.
We invite anyone that wants to come on the cruise to support our Wounded Warriors to join us as we show our Wounded Warriors how much we appreciate the sacrifices they have made for our country.
More information is available as well as pictures from previous Wounded Warrior Cruises and trips to our Remote Schools in Thailand on our Web Site at www.46thsfca.org
Since 2009, I have been absolutely dedicated to this fantastic organization. I was originally a benefactor of the 46th SFCA, as I am a severely wounded US Military Service-Member. After experiencing the genuine care and dedication of the organization, I actively sought to help the 46th SFCA in any way possible.
After assisting and volunteering, I graciously accepted a position on the Board of Directors and continue to do anything I can to continue to support the mission of this outstanding group!
