With the nickname TEAM DARKHORSE, this charity does an amazing job of supporting active duty Marines, Sailors and families of the 3/5 Battalion as well as veterans, wounded veterans and Gold Star families.
The charity is staffed completely by volunteers to ensure that donated funds are used appropriately. The administrative expenses are minimal.
Laguna Hills Team Dark Horse makes sure that no one forgets the value of the sacrifice our military members make every day, especially the members who make the ultimate ssacrifice. They make trips down to Camp Pendleton to help them build and repair decks, etc. They give baby showers and Christmas parties with donated and purchased gifts and food. They also coordinate with the 3/5 Bn to be honored and present at the Memorial Day race in LH and to have team members there to run and to explain and display their equipment. They’re all Volunteers and they give all they possibly can to honor, respect and assist these young men and women and let them know how much they’re loved and appreciated. They’re not a huge group but their dedication and hard work is impressive and awe-inspiring. Every Marine and their Family touched by the efforts of this group know how much they are respected, cared about and will never be forgotten when they move on. To be a
part of Team Dark Horse is reason to be proud and to be supported. Our lives and our Country are dependent on the bravery of our Military personnel and our Military Personnel are dependent on our support of them. JT
This non profit has been supporting Marines, their parents, brothers and sisters. They provide an invaluable outreach of support for those that are defending our country. Often times these Marines are deployed, getting ready to deploy or have just returned. It is nice to see that there are citizens there that treat them like family. The Marines in 3rd Battalion 5th Marines are mostly far from home. From places like Buffalo, NY; Pittsburgh, Pa; Tampa, Fl; Austin, Tx and other places throughout the country. They know that someone has their back and is standing by to keep their morale in place.
