Dealing with depression and anxiety are a difficult thing, especially when you don’t know what is wrong with you or why you feel the way you do. It is even more difficult as a teenager that is trying to figure out who they are amongst other teens and changing hormones. Life can be very lonely when you think you are so different from everyone else. Compound all of this with being an introvert. How do you express yourself correctly or appropriately to others on how you feel or what you’re dealing with? You have an explosion of internal overloading waiting to happen.
This is how the last four years have been for a young man of 15. But finally some answers have been found! However it is challenging to change oneself after so many years of unexplained feelings and emotions. Horse therapy has helped him find another outlet. He is free to learn something new and care about something else through this process. Something (horses) that don’t judge. When he is sad that he can’t continue through the winter months shows you that it hits him in his heart.
God helps us find ourselves, when we let him!
Our daughter began at 2BU youth ranch in the summer of 2013. She entered very fearful and nervous. She has struggled with nervousness and fear when in new situations. She also lacked self confidence. Over the last 2 sessions we have seen her begin to trust and connect with both the coaches and horses at 2BU. She has also begun to stand up for herself in familiar settings. Her confidence is growing everyday.
Thank you 2BU for accepting us unconditionally and loving our daughter for who she is. I am confident by the growth that our daughter shows each week that she is learning to be content with who she was created
