Hello, I am someone who has worked with Veterans as the Director of a psychiatric day treatment program, Suicide Prevention Coordinator, and VA housing Case Manager. 22 Warriors Foundation has been absolutely excellent in their service to Veterans with every resource conceivable. They have always been extremely prompt and responsible in obtaining and delivering the highest quality furniture, appliances, etc. to Veterans. There has been no organisation more helpful, responsive, or professional in my 29 years as I have worked in several different capacities at the VA! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone! They get results, and no one is willing to provide more help and resources than they have are!

I have been involved with the 22 Warriors Foundation for nearly a decade. I've watched it grow over the years and done my part to assist whenever and however I can. I have seen firsthand the good this organization does. The heart and care that everyone involved puts into everything they do. Their tireless service is an invaluable asset to veterans in the Las Vegas area.

22 Warriors Foundation has been a life saver for so many veterans. Bill and the team have helped many veterans. As an advocate, I know where to send vets that may need specific resources, and 22 Warriors has not failed. This organization is foundational to the Southern Nevada community as it serves not only as a resource, but also a wealth of knowledge for PTSD, TBI, Veteran healthcare, and community gatherings.

This organization is what is good about our Las Vegas Veteran Community. Its not about getting props for helping Veterans, it's about helping Veterans and not using them as props. Could they be larger and have much more money from donors?
YES, but they will never do it at the expense of a Veteran and right to not be held up like a found hurt puppy for everyone to see just for recognition. This is why 22 Warriors Foundation / Warrior Suicide Prevention Foundation (wspfoundation.org) exist.

My name is Shannon and this is a part of my story.
I was at the end of my rope! Hadn’t slept in over two weeks, unable to keep food down. Hell, I was throwing up water! I would look at people talking to me and I could see and hear them and yet somehow everyone and everything was getting farther and farther away. Seemed even hope had left my grasp at this point. I was ready to check myself in to the hospital or accept I was checking out when a little voice from no where said, “shhhhiiiiitTT”. I followed that voice to extreme couture and sat quietly among my peers afraid to speak fore if I did would my frayed edges would come completely unraveled. Again, this voice like a creaking door opening…”shhhhhhiiiiiiittT”. I tried to yell but all I could utter was a whisper of my weaken and vulnerable state. “Help. Please, help”. I believe full heartedly that each and every suggestion that night was intended to ease my suffering but again every voice and person seemed like and island I was drifting away from. Day turned into night as night turns into day and none of this registered from the lack of sleep. The light I saw that next day was somehow different this time. It was shining and yet somehow soft. A hand extended from that light and this time I took hold with all my remaining effort; I held on.
Now this is just part of my story and I share this here with you in hopes that you will not give up on yourself and if you have to abilities help others with their struggles. I am far from fi;I shed in my healing but I was lifted from the pits of despair and and set back to the path of health and happiness with the tireless efforts of a man with a purpose. Not all superhero’s are visible and rarely are they rewarded for their call of actions. That hand that took hold of me, held on and worked with me week after week for months until sanity seemed obtainable once again. Until the questions of reality and the end of all tomorrow’s where no longer my only thoughts. I began remembering of the good and the enjoyments that accompanied this life. The people I have loved and would leave behind from pain and misbeliefs. I was able to return to the land of the living with the help from a super hero! Thing is you wouldn’t know him from anybody else. He is humbled and softly spoken. Loved by his community and yet struggles within himself. He carries a heavy weight not only on his shoulders but in his heart, as well. This is the synergy or fiber that connects him to so many. He feels and understands what can be like for others to feel. I have seen him love and suffer from loss. I have even seen this hero stagger but he has not given up. Not of you, me nor himself. You may know him as Bill ML but I have to honor to call this hero of man my brother.

I highly recommend them and am always willing to donate time to help them in their efforts.

The Board of 22 Warriors Foundation does everything it can to help combat veterans through the worst of times. They schedule social events, reach out to other veteran organizations, and are always available to talk. I have attended several of their events through the last several years and am always amazed at the networking and camaraderie no matter what branch. As a USMC Vietnam combat veteran I know the difficulties our veterans and first responders face at times.
The 22 Warriors Foundation is one of the best veterans organizations I've had to good fortune to come across. They've been there, done that, and bought the T shirt, and because of that they are able to effectively help other veterans cope with the struggles we face on a daily basis. Bill Emmel is a dedicated individual who believes in the foundation and it's goals.
Thank you 22 Warriors Foundation.

As a nation, we all owe our veterans a huge debt of thanks. A debt we will never be able to repay.

22 Warriors Foundation is certainly carrying the load and doing their fair share to repay that debt, by helping veterans cope with PTSD and doing everything in their power to prevent Veterans tempted to commit suicide by offering hope.

Where and whenever possible 22 Warriors Foundation is transitioning homeless veterans into homes.

I believe this to be an extremely worthy - and much needed - cause.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to this organization about 6 months ago when I was invited to attend one of their events. Being retired military, I have several friends that have witnessed more than anyone should ever have to endure. It is organizations like this that give those brothers and sisters an outlet to voice their concerns, talk about their fears, and even help others through their nightmares without the worry that whoever is listening is judging or not caring. The team here is very well represented and organized to assist in any way required. If you are experiencing any concerns regarding your personal experiences and hardships, I recommend you give 22 Warriors a call, it could save your life and you never know who you can save, just by being involved.

Everyone with the foundation I've met or interacted with in one way or another do everything they can to ensure you are not only ok, but are doing well in every aspect of your life. The 22 Warriors Foundation gives hope to those who are feeling hopeless. Many veterans like myself feel our best days were spent in the military and now question what we are supposed to do with the rest of our lives. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be much point in moving forward. However, the 22 Warriors Foundation is there for veterans like me to talk with someone who understands what I've been through. I've been interacting with the leaders and others members of this group for years. Having peer support has been very helpful, especially during those times when I was feeling disconnected and alone.

See Sch - O over 20k just to office to pay for fundraisers etc
3500 for travel and meetings?
just 1200 given as donation like Vettixx or for medical to a Vet?
see for yourself (scroll down to bottom, dollar sign not shown on end of explanation so amount is hard to tell), shame on him. Time for call to Feds.

This comment shows the writer does not know how operating cost and how our Foundation runs. Yes there is allot of money going to paying for our offices and equipment the programs we provide at no cost to the Person even though the lease for the equipment and office do cost money. We take many Veterans to shows and events by using Vettix at no cost to then and we include food and beverages. Most of the "transportation" is covering uhaul trucks and equipment to deliver donated furniture to formerly homeless Veterans as our Outreach Coordinater works with housing counselors to furnish their new homes at no cost to anyone but the Foundation. The fact is purely We use funds many times to lease our offices, equipment like our Neurofeedback systems so that we provide services at no cost to those in need of assistance and with Unpaid Volunteers. If you have any further need of the explanation on how a non profit and it's budget works feel free to contact our website, good day Anonymous.

As a suicidal veteran myself, I went to the 22 Warriors Foundation for help. The director himself said that they would definitely help, and then proceeded to give me the run around for several weeks before ceasing to respond to emails and hanging up on me when I called. As the next few months painfully passed, my mental state became such that I was no longer employable. I lost everything, became homeless, lived on the street for almost a year, and was eventually taken in by an old Army friend. My friend was appalled by what I told him about my experience with the 22 Warriors Foundation and decided to contact them himself claiming to need help. The director (who seems to be the only point of contact in the foundation) gave him the same garbage stories and excuses before breaking contact. Now highly suspicious, we had several other people try to get assistance whenever we could over the course of the next year and everyone we had get in contact got the same results. Convinced that this organization/individual was up to no good, we called and asked to come see his financials on several occasions, which he refused (which is illegal for a 501) and then threatened us if we were to show up unannounced. We went ahead and left him alone but we've been sharing this info with interested parties ever since. Always keep in mind that a non-profit organization DOES NOT have to use the majority of your donations for charitable purposes. Think twice before donating to 22 Warriors Foundation unless you really want to help the director rent himself entire golf courses for those ridiculous 'fundraisers'. Must be a nice lifestyle... Taking advantage of those few generous people who are donating money to help suicidal veterans is not only incredibly disappointing, but downright disgusting.

Absolutely Incorrect and false review. First off I specifically remember this situation and this and EVERY person is told the steps they have to go through to be vetted through CRRC at the Northeast VA Clinic and even then because we are a very small organization that does not mean we have the capabilities. Second, there are more than one POC in this organization and the steps don't change. Obviously this is someone who was not happy that they were not just given money by us, which is NOT our primary or secondary program. Thirdly, Obviously by the other reviews this person is not the standard but more like a person who felt that they were entitled to something that they may not have qualified for through us and/or if it was this time of the year we more than likely did not have the resources to help. Fourth, our financials are available through our Treasurer who is a Licensed Accountant. NOBODY has ever requested to see our financials and not been given the opportunity to see them.

profile

22WarriorsFoundation 11/21/2019

And finally the last I will address this false BS review, We do not rent or do ANY expensive Golf Fundraisers at all these are events put on by others that we are invited to, We don't have any type of budget that could afford that. We are also ALL Volunteers and nobody is making money and as a Retired and 100% VA rated disabled Veteran all my income is through my retirement and disability. This person obviously knows nothing of our organization or the community that we are in because I have countless Organizations and Individuals that will vouch for our organization and what we do for the Veteran Community.

22 Warriors Foundation is an all around excellent foundation that does not get enough credit. Their main focus is to bring the 22 suicides a day down to 0 for our brothers and sisters in arms. The organization does much more than that. I am an Air Force Veteran myself that lost my service animal last November due to her age; however, she had been retired for almost 4 years. Back in 2016 I collapsed at work, ended up hospitalized, and was out of work for over 3 1/2 months due to this "unknown illness" that crept up on me which basically paralyzes half of my body. Since then, I have had multiple relapses that seem to come on when they feel like it on top of being a Route 91 Survivor. Thanks to Bill and his organization I was able to get Harvest in Service Dog Training with Michael's Angel Paws for medical alert purposes, stability, hearing, and ptsd. This is one of them non-profit organizations that truly cares about the people they help. The people that build it and make the decisions are the ones that have been in the same shoes where you are instead of like other organizations where you have the "suit & tie type but never actually worn the uniform or walked in your shoes type".

I learned about the 22 Warriors Foundation about 2 1/2 years ago, shortly after moving to the Las Vegas area. I was immediately struck by how simple the concept was in order to make such a huge difference to some of our veterans. Knowing that 22+ veterans take their own lives every day but by providing them a service dog, 98% of those who consider suicide don't follow through is a very powerful statistic.

I attended a luncheon where COO/VP of 22 Warriors, Dave Austin was the speaker. But instead of Dave talking for 30 - 45 minutes and telling us about this organization, he let the work they do speak for itself by bringing a veteran, his service dog and the dog's trainer with him. You could see the passion Dave brings to this group, but you could feel how effective these dogs are by listening to the veteran talk about the differences in his life because of the dog. He had hope again.

Soon after this lunch, I was invited to one of their monthly networking events. The comradery between those in attendance and the underlying purpose of this group is one of the reasons I continue to support and attend their monthly events.

As the mother of a Soldier, and an Army Brat I have lived around the Military all my life. I share the office with 22 Warriors and help with Family outreach. Bill Emmell and I have grown together in our understanding of how being a Soldier affects the Mothers when we do not hear from them.....I have a better understanding of how going to War effects the young men & women and they do not really know that so much time goes by without communication. I understand my Son more and he talks to his Mom more.
We have Nevada Veteran Advocates in the office and when my Son was in town he was able to meet with one. My Son had a claim that had been on appeal for 2 years and some new medical issues. Bob a Marine Veteran and Advocate helped my Son better understand the process and helped him file new paperwork .
We are all helping because we know personally just how important it is to talk to someone who understands because we feel their pain.
I represent American War Mothers and am proud to be a part of this wonderful organization. Chere' Pedersen (President of american war Mothers) NV State

The 22 Warriors Foundation is committed to serving wounded warriors and first responders where little other assistance is available. We see them in our Southern Nevada veteran's community at many outreach events, but more importantly, we've seen the work they do behind the screen. They not only collaborate with other veteran's non-profit agencies, but are typically the non-profit that provides the most direct services to our wounded warriors.

22 Warriors Foundation supports several vital initiatives aimed to relieve the psycho-physiological stress of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and Traumatic Brain Injury. They not only support the service member, but their families as well, a vital link in caring for our veterans.

We very much appreciate both the work that 22 Warriors Foundation is doing, and the way they do it. 22 Warriors Foundation primary fundraising arm is a social event that gathers veteran's and those who support them in a monthly BBQ sponsored networking event. BY creating and maintaining this network event, we have seen an expansion of awareness of the issues that our veteran's face in the larger community, and have gained increased support from these events.

I most fully support the efforts of 22 Warriors Foundation in supporting Brain Rehabilitation for our wounded warriors. There is clear and exciting research demonstrating that those who have suffered from TBI, PTSS, and many other mental health imbalances, can be restored to full function, in a very brief time, with the Brain Rehabilitation tools supported by this excellent veteran's non-profit. Time and again, we have seen that servicemembers who participate in this Brain Rehab approach do better then their peers in their recovery, and are able to more fully participate in their lives, their families, and their communities, after receiving assistance

Thank you 22 Warriors Foundation. We will support this Non-profit agency unti 22 becomes zero.

I have been working with Bill at 22 Warriors for almost a year. We have been able to address some immediate needs for several Veterans. In some cases they have invested significant time and energy to go meet with people on the Veteran's behalf. Other times, they have helped move or taken the Vet to get new tires for their car or directly paid a bill to keep a Vet from being homeless or without food or utilities. They have been very carful insuring the Vet has a legitimate need and is a good stuart of donor funds. They show up for Vets and keeps their word, this is why Veterans respect him and 22 Warriors. Thank you Bill

When I was asked to be a member of the board for 22 Warriors Foundation, I did it with one condition....I can handle the social media for Facebook. Permission granted, I am the CMO. I was very impressed with the mission and its determination to eliminate veteran suicide. Trying to raise funds for service dogs, is not a cheap proposition. They are dedicated to find ways to raise money and give veterans a reason for living. It is a labor love, but one that is very rewarding.

I am not a veteran, but was suicidal for an extended period of time. I created a bbq championship, to be held Oct 2020, to benefit Warrior Suicide Prevention. I was looking for an organization that was as committed as I was to help those in need, but to also educated those thru suicide awareness. 22 Warriors Foundation has given me a purpose and provided me with an extended family. Through 22 Warriors Foundation, i have met vets from other organizations and they have welcomed me. My life is better than it was 13 months ago, but everything is still a process. I am grateful for meeting Bill Emmel and the 22 Warriors Foundation family.

I don't normally go every month but is very informational and there are other veteran organizations/organizations who come to share and network. I just recently let someone know I can periodically volunteer my time with this organization.
