Robbins Nonprofits and Charities

Today I will once again return to Camp Victory to pick up a very tired and weary camper, and for days to come, I will listen (over and over) to story after story, of all the things he has done this week at camp, but only after he sleeps the rest of the day. Many camps have all the bells and whistles to appease the masses, but Camp Victory gives children the chance to escape the fast pace, the electronics and the things that keep our mind in a whirl, and let their minds rest, relax and be children. Now they will be busy from daylight till bed time, and do more things in these five days than they could imagine, but it will be an experience, full of good-times, that will stay with them forever. I thank God for leading us to Camp Victory. Each year, I volunteer to work the week Nicholas goes to camp, and I can tell you that the men and women that volunteer to make each week special for each child, are of a special breed. Their soul purpose for being there is to share the love of God through word and example, as they provide a week of fun. Last night, the bonfire was the closing event for this week of junior week, of camp. As I watched and listened to the children laugh and talk while they ate ice cream, my heart was so full that I couldn't contain it. If we don't invest in the well being of our children, then who will? I've seen children in my own family flourish from day to day at Camp Victory. I thank God there is a special place like this and it's right here in our back yard, so to speak. Better get to going to pick them up. Plan for a child you know to go to Camp Victory next year. Thank you for the life changing week for so many little souls.
