We visited Global Links as part of research for our entrepreneurship project at University of Pittsburgh, and received a very warm welcome, detailed introduction and gracious help from staff members such as Angela and Connor! The medical devices that they have loaned us will surely facilitate our research and our endeavor to develop a low-cost medical device targeting the low resource areas. We are planning to contact them in the near future about figuring out the specific needs for our potential customers, distribution channels and such.<br><br>More importantly, this visit is a transformational experience for us! Witnessing the volunteers working in the warehouse full of organized surplus medical supplies and talking to Angela and Connor about the organization's operation, needs and social impact, I was deeply touched by Global Links' noble cause and a hug cannot even express my most sincere gratitude towards these guys. We thank them for all their great work and devotion! I wish I could have brought the whole team to get to know Global Links onsite (the other two members had other engagements that day), since we are all enthusiastic and inspired entrepreneurs who wish to develop something useful for the greater good. We are more than happy to write reviews for the nebulizers and oxygen concentrators that they have loaned us to research on as the least we can do to pay back and start helping out.<br><br>We will use our social media presence to spread the word for Global Links. I have had the privilege of being involved and benefitting from their expertise and programs since 1975!!<br>It has provided teachers and students and our region a window to the world.

I started volunteering at Open Field a little over 3 years ago and have had a great experience. The organization is well organized and dedicated to the mission to improve the lives and future of youth through sport. My first experience was joining Zoom calls with the kids at home during the pandemic and progressed to co-coaching a team this year. The staff at Open Field were instrumental in my development as a leader and mentor. I have fostered great relationships with this organization, and I look forward to continuing as a volunteer with Open Field.

As a beneficiary of Hope for Ghana’s work, I have witnessed lives transformed. Their commitment to school infrastructure, medical equipment, health outreach, and potable water for deprived rural communities brings dignity, hope, and lasting impact. asked to volunteer at TMC. A writer with newspaper experience i thought I could help with their version of a newspaper. NO. Change is not welcomed here. <br>Then a "paid volunteer" a catholic sister escorted me nextdoor to the building that is most certainly not up to code.<br><br>Instead the well dressed white coordinator took me over to meet S****y. The Thrift store "manager." the year I volunteered was mostly OK, thanks to a few people, yet after being reprimanded several times by "the manager" was told I was not welcomed.<br><br>ok... an intelligent personable white man, did not mix. From staffers buying small bottles of booze and chugging it in front of customers to the Horrific Waste.<br><br>Yes go out back. I found an American flag donated by someone IN THE TRASH.<br><br>It's all a big social group for the MISS XXX (if you are a person of color you can add your name).<br><br>Sickening and 5 to 25 MILLION dollars a year????<br><br>Thomas Merton is laughing at the audacity.<br>An Abomination indeed.<br><br>Sure get cheap stuff. As a founding board member I have had the opportunity to experience the growth of Casita Copan over the years. What started out as a seed of possibility has blossomed into a fertile garden of hope, nurturing care, opportunities and support for the children, families and community of Copan Ruinas. I have had the opportunity to experience first hand the love, passion, and dedication that the executive director, the staff and the moms provide to health and well being of the deserving children. I am moved by the generosity and passion of the donors from all over the world who have turned this dream into an even more amazing reality.

This is a Roman Catholic charity supporting the mission work of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars in remote parts of the world. I found out about this religious order and the Seraphic Mass Association years ago when they staffed a Catholic parish to which I belonged in St. Louis, Missouri. I was impressed by their devotion, their kindness and their dedication (two of them served WELL PAST normal retirement age). The Association offers Novenas throughout the year that donors can have their intentions and loved ones enrolled in and that is how I first started to contribute to them. In addition to the Novenas, for the past 13 years I have contributed to them quarterly as a "St. Anthony Mission Partner." Their donor services are efficient (they can tweak your mailing preferences virtually any way you want). In the past, they sent a confirmation listing my intentions, but now they just acknowledge the donation. Sometimes they are slow in processing my gift and sending a "thank you" letter.

When my brother passed away, this organization accepter his medical equipment for someone else's use. This was a blessing for our family. My church, Full Life Cathedral Deliverance wanted to donate to help with your efforts of reaching those in disaster areas of our country. God Bless you for the work you continue to do.

Just visited the so-called "supported" orphans in the Catholic Diocese of Murang'a in Kenya. It has been a concern that the Diocese takes ownership of a CCI before fully supporting and the St. Michael's institution mentioned is only mentioned cause it is the only one owned by the Diocese and the only that is still supported by the organization. There are other institutions that are victims of this organization's con and theft that are still struggling after the organization "intervened" and made their life worse. I have been informed that the treasurer of this organization's went to one of the CCI , behind the president's back, and tried to apologize for the atrocious acts of monetizing their suffering for profit but was chased away by the administrators. The former president (the Bishop of the Diocese) was also chased away in another CCI. For the love of God, quit the malice and do what you're supposed to do. It was a very heartbreaking experience to see that the hard earned money of the citizens of America and any other country supporting this organization to do good is embezzled and used for personal gain and left the orphans to fend for themselves while still being used since their story cannot get out. WE MUST STOP THE MONETIZING OF ORPHANS FOR PROFIT BY ORGANIZATIONS LIKE SUCH. IF THE SUPPORT CANNOT GO TO IT'S INTENDED DESTINATION, THEN THE ORGANIZATION SHOULD CEASE TO EXIST. SO SAD THAT THE ORGANIZATION HAD TO EDIT ITS INFORMATION TO AVOID PERSECUTION WHICH PROVES HOW GUILTY THEY ARE.<br><br>HELP THE POOR AND DON'T LIE ABOUT HELPING THEM!<br><br>DISGRACEFUL!!

Took my money and didn’t provide a reputable service that would be expected from the money paid. Was never made aware of how my money was being used for charity or if it even was used.

I have been a friend and supporter of Haiti H2O since its inception, and I am grateful for this organization's holistic approach to bringing transformation—hope and opportunity—to rural communities in Haiti. Haiti H2O offers a down-to-earth model of mutuality and partnership which embodies the Gospel command to love our neighbors as ourselves. I whole-heartedly recommend Haiti H2O as worthy of support and participation.

I have been a volunteer for this organization for the last 7 years, the volunteer coordinator for the last 5 and a board member for the last 4. I am deeply committed to our work in Nicaragua (which Eileen mentioned) and to the amazing amount of work our volunteers have accomplished here in Pittsburgh and in Nicaragua. <br> <br>I would like to talk a little more about our relationship with the El Porvenir Coffee Cooperative in Nicaragua and our coffee project in general. We were one of the first (and only) organizations in Pittsburgh to partner directly with a coffee cooperative and to promote the issues of Fair Trade in the Pittsburgh region. With the help of our volunteers and our roaster, we have sold over 150,000 pounds of coffee from this cooperative since 2001. We pay way above a Fair Trade price to the farmers as well as the shipping from there to here. It is shade grown, bird friendly and organically certified at the farm (promoting bio-diversity and healthier ground water for the families). <br> <br>The coffee is served at several local area restaurants, cafes and sold in several retail outlets. It is also used by several local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farms and by several local school, civic and church groups as a fundraiser. The most successful of these groups is Franklin Regional Middle School and I would like to provide a testament by Mr. Poole (the teacher who started this in 2003. <br> <br>"I was shocked to find out we have been doing this since 2003! I have estimated that we have made close to $20.000 in profits, half of which has stayed in our community helping local families to have food on their tables for the holidays. The other half has provided donations to BNH, The Nationality Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh, The American Cancer Society, The Functional Literacy Ministry of Haiti, Two High School scholarships to students in Nicaragua and a new computer to a rural school in Costa Rica delivered by our students. Over the years this experience has taught my students the value of serving others, the difficulty of living what we consider a normal daily life, and what fair trade means to the people who actually receive the fair trade price. Thank you Building New Hope!" <br> <br>This inspires me and I know the rest of the board to keep up the great work ahead of us. I want to close by saying I see first hand the high quality of work we have and are still accomplishing and the many lives we are changing for the better, both here in Pittsburgh and in Nicaragua.
