Having been a very active volunteer with the International Cancer Advocacy Network for almost 28 years, I continually witness the kind of support desperately needed by cancer patients and their families. Seeing and hearing evidence of such support on a regular basis, I am not only proud of our team literally being "in the trenches" with our patients but I am honored to serve in their midst as Chair of ICAN's Board of Trustees. ICAN’s Patient Services are supported by 172 volunteers from around the world divided into substantive research teams and professional councils. Every hour of every day, ICAN advocates assist Stage IV cancer patients find and access the personalized treatment that is best suited for them at that pivot point in their patient journey. As far as I have seen over the years of being part of the cancer arena, ICAN provides more for the patient than any other cancer organization on the planet.

Teen Lifeline is an amazing organization. I can’t express is words how amazing the work they do is. They are so involved in the community in so many ways. They are a great resource for so many people for so many reasons. Thank you so much for the work you guys do. You guys rock!!!!

I wrote a story recently for the Latham Letter, a publication of the Latham Foundation. My story, Why I Volunteer at Animal Shelters, takes the reader from my start in 1989 at the MSPCA in Boston to the AAWL where I have been a regular volunteer since 2008. After I moved from Tempe in 2014 I shifted my service to the adoption store at the Chandler mall. Volunteering is as helpful to me as it is for the animals since I no longer worked, the result of brain trauma I sustained in a 1994 car accident. I enjoy helping the animals, staff, and customers. For me, being at the store is a blessing.

The Russian Center also provides critical social services to those in need. The center offers essential items to families and individuals struggling to make ends meet. Additionally, the center offers immigration services, providing guidance and support to those navigating the complex immigration system. These services have a profound impact on the individuals who receive them, often providing a lifeline during difficult times. <br> <br>In addition to its social services, the Russian Center hosts cultural events and activities that bring the community together. From traditional Russian holidays and festivals to concerts and art exhibitions, the center provides opportunities for community members to connect and celebrate their shared heritage. These events not only promote cultural awareness but also help to strengthen community bonds. <br> <br>The Russian Center's impact on the community is further amplified by its partnerships with local organizations and institutions. By collaborating with schools, libraries, and other community groups, the center is able to expand its reach and provide even more resources to those in need. These partnerships also help to raise awareness about the center's mission and programs, increasing community engagement and support. <br> <br>In summary, the Russian Center has a significant impact on the community by offering language classes, social services, cultural events, and partnerships with local organizations. The center's work helps to bridge cultural gaps, provide essential resources to those in need, and foster a more inclusive and connected community. Mirage Elementary has been enjoying the magical experience of Santa (Patrick) for the past several years. He and his elves bring so much joy to our campus each year. The students and staff look forward to Polar Express event all year long. They are all so kind and sweet with the children. Each child leaves feeling special and loved. It is an experience they will remember for their entire life. Thank you for sharing your time and Christmas magic each year. We LOVE PNC!

this is the 2nd time I have had to use them and toss out the whole food box. due to moldy food. I ask to speak to someone and get nowhere. the food they give us is not from our community food is not even sold here. so when you drop off food donations or drop food in the donation box, guess what they send it out of our community. not here. they give us food we can't eat.... this is heartbreaking and now I see why so many people are getting sick...<br><br><br>where are your donations going? i have contacted the news stations since they so fast to praise this group. send them the past two boxes i got. why am i getting outdated and moldy food from out of state? where is the donations from Arizona going????? <br><br>i voleenter here with my daughter an we will stop doing so. this is bogus

If I could give this place zero stars I would. It's a bait and switch operation - beware. We were at an adoption event found a sweet dog and decided to adopt after spending 20 minutes with it and no issues worth noting. There was no mention of behavior issues or medical issues just a nice paragraph listing all the great things. Within the first few hours of being home we started noticing some behavior issues and by the end of the night the dog was charging and snapping at us. We stated looking through the paperwork and there it was .. a three page breakdown from the original Humane Society on his aggressive behaviors and how this dog was on the kill list for these issues. By the next morning I'd been bitten - hard multiple times unprovoked. We decided this was not a good fit, and called the shelter to bring the dog back in. We told them the issues how we had gotten bit and that this dog needed professional help and to not be around any children. they said we could get a credit towards another dog, but wouldn't get our money back and after 30 days the credit became a "donation". We had the dog for less than 24 hours.The NEXT day that same dog was posted on their page available for adoption with the same cute message about how loving and great he is. No mention of the behavior issues and no mention of not being around children. And the medical issues.. the dog was also excessively scratching itself and we'd noticed he had a limp, poor hygiene and had puked 2 times while in our care. <br><br>To note- We did some digging, and the same dog had been previously adopted out before us and returned for the same reason 3 days later. <br><br>The shelter was absolutely disgusting on the inside... everything was dirty, falling apart and cluttered. I mean paperwork, old pizza boxes on the front desk, boxes and boxes of unorganized stuff EVERYWHERE, cabinets, falling apart, walls peeling, dirty floors. This place needs to be shut down. They go out find dogs on the kill list and adopt them out not mentioning any issues and then the dogs get returned and they do it all over again.<br><br>AZ Small Dog rescue are scammers and fraudulent. Buyer beware... Run far far away

Although they may be doing the best they can they have no availability for feral cat neutering.<br>I contacted them in February 2023 and again in March. I was advised to call back “in a few weeks”. <br>I have a borrowed trap and am ready to reduce potential feral cat populations but need this key component.

it has been a rough year ir so for me and my hell jounds( four Great Danes) and animals and humans in disaster has been s gidsrnd filked with knowledge and compassion for bith me and my dogs, they are just absolutely awesomec

The staff are ableist trash that discriminate against people with disabilities. My wife and a family friend visited and were denied application. Later the management admitted to another customer over the phone that it was because of her using a wheelchair. My wife and that customer had exchanged info prior and she reached out to let us know. Take your money and go elsewhere. This place is an overpriced, ableist cash grab.

Humane society is not humane they're inhumane they've attacked me multiple times they taking lies face value they've used holidays as a reason to steal and profit off of my animals in a short time frame when it came to their convenience they'd like to me they've sent the cops after me they've acted like they gave a flying crap they're only about the money they don't care about the animals they change their ages their their names their genders to hide the fact of what they really are how old they are and where they came from the concealed their real origin their website would prove it if you looked at animals that they take it from you and you look it up they won't tell you the truth once you surrender them are forced forced to surrender your animals by means of your own existence or without a choice they rate your property mostly without consent with cops no warrant it's happened to me my landlord decide to pay them off to take everything because he didn't like animals and I guarantee more than half of those animals if not all of them were all used nice for their serum testament they lie they'll never tell the truth they have cops like two cops lie anyways they took everything they brought their whole crew on multiple units attack my home and I believe it you guys knew the truth behind these people you would soon want them to crumble collapse that way the animals that they have go to real caretakers and lovers not people with corruption don't take their b******* lightly they don't care I'm not baptizing all organizations with humane society I have experience with their lies and experience and their manipulative tactic and they're abused towards those animals that they're receiving they don't let you see what you do to your animals they bring the cops to corral you they make up wise to try to convince you so they can clean them out and they leave you with nothing and they hurt you emotionally mentally and they leave you to be attacked by the authority if anyone ever thinks he made society don't you have an animal take care of it you can't don't even look that way I have took care of my house my whole life and not even day or is stop me from doing what comes next and my plans for them is to see them lose donations for the truth exposed for their real action and for real organizations that do care to not have to euthanize animals that don't deserve not to have a choice these people are corrupt they take it over all animal reason and I guarantee even their CEO doesn't know the kind of workers he's dealing with and it kind of actions under his nose if he does he's no better than them so we'll have to see how long this takes to everybody sees humane society as animal slaughtering I can't prove that they're getting bribed but I can most likely think that what they did was most likely to profit and to kill they told me many times we don't have room and then they clean out over 20 cats and I asked for their help and they completely stab me in the back and swipe out even fixed animals and they don't take them for a reason they're sick or reasons they cleaned them out by acting a judge in their little scheme though I can't go after him by law I know I can do it a different way and that's called opening and organization and having all the others that despise humane society actions taking business from them for their actions and only donate to legitimate truth the humidity is not one of them and with my experience with them to be honest workers like very Newman and Jemima Schmidt their animal cruelty officer that has not only allowed animal control cruelty and walked and let it happen by her own authority it's all because they don't want no one seeing what they do that's why you could never get it on camera they attack your security footage they pull your power so you can't see what they do and they vacate you from your own property as well over lies over untruthful evidence just lies down the line humane so you will go under they will have to submit and I guarantee when this great nation finds out if not already what they're about they will not get donations except for people that are supportive of their intention over their lie to manipulate people to take what they don't need to take and what they don't deserve to have that doesn't deserve to suffer I'm a 100% an animal lover and caretaker and they stole everything from me to make a profit through everything they wanted to use in their power and now my goal is to keep animals safe from people like them from people like the cops and shoot dogs for lies and leave look at the example all these animals in the streets dying mating killed murdered by people what are they doing nothing but allowing it and saying they're full saying they don't have room so in my experience and my and my opinion for all you to understand humane society no way don't take anything they say to heart and don't believe anything they say

Volunteering at Harvest Compassion Center had been the most rewarding experience. The way they go out of there way to continue to help our community is amazing. They make such a huge impact on our community by provided so many different resources such as clothing, food, diapers, hygiene, etc. HCC continues to be the best place to help serve others!

Lisa, CEO & co-founder of Kitchen on the Street, recently visited my classroom to speak with my students. She is an expert on issues of food insecurity, but what really sets her presentations apart is her ability to connect with kids. Through interactive activities, meaningful visuals, and powerful personal stories, Lisa made the mission of Kitchen on the Street accessible to my students. They learned so much from her visit and left inspired to become community changemakers!

Phoenix Women's Chorus helped me find a voice that I had lost many years ago. The sisterhood and music touch many lives. .I sang with the Choir for 10 years and served as a Board member as well as other positions. Thank you Phoenix Women's Chorus for celebrating community through music year after year.

As an Army Nurse Corps Vietnam Veteran, I was contacted by Imprints of Honor (IOH) requesting a presentation/student interview at a local High School Imprints of Honor Chapter regarding my experience in Vietnam. I have been very impressed with all aspects of the interactions. Communication and support from the faculty advisor were excellent. The interview/presentation was eloquently written-up by a student, published in a professional hardback volume titled Since You Asked and later autographed at a large annual gathering of contributors, students, faculty, and volunteers of Imprints of Honor. Other activities of Imprints of Honor such as participation in patriotic community parades, providing speakers for local organizations, and scholarships for students have all been equally professional. I highly recommend IOH as a very worthy nonprofit.

I've spent time on both the Chorister and Volunteer side of the organization over the past twenty years. As a boy, my experiences were formative towards developing my professional acumen that I still lean on today, even though I've ended up quite far from the arts in my own career. As a volunteer, the organization is thoughtful about my needs and responsive to my comments, which I always like to see. <br> <br>Overall, it's been a great organization to work with over the years, and I hope to do so for years to come!

What an amazing ministry! This organization has been serving the homeless for more than 20 years. They are really making a difference in the community.

Casa Center for Positive Social Change is one of the most innovative and important programs I've found. It is my sincere hope that one day this education will be a standard part of every school program, but until then, I wish the good people at Casa the best!
