Great organization. My kids learned and grew so much through these experiences.

FSD's staff in field and in the HQ care deeply about all the projects they are working on. They devote their time and energy to make sure each project is being performed properly, the communities are being respected and are getting something that will be useful in the long term. Their goal is to provide enough help to start a project that will later on be able to sustain itself, making any aid organization not necessary and the community independent, something that all nonprofits should strive to do.

I really value Amazon Watch for its Frontline commitment in a dangerous but essential area, it's centering of indigenous women and sensitive relationship with supporters like myself, a pensioner in the far off UK. I'm made to feel part of the struggle and am invited, not pestered, to contribute at key times.I also admire their tenacity in such a drawn out and violent situation.

Attitudinal Healing Connection is legendary. The teachers and staff are engaging youth and students of all ages to cultivate creative practices and express their true self. When I attended the end-of-year exhibition last May, I was awed and inspired by the artwork and stories made by Oakland's youth. Their talent, imagination, and hard work really shined! As a new instructor, I have positive feelings about building relationships with my students, giving them challenges in and out of the classroom, and, to quote one of AHC's principles, "to give is to receive".

I've been an ardent supporter, donor, and volunteer for Arts for Oakland Kids since 2011 when this small but dynamic nonprofit came into my orbit as a resident of Oakland, Calif. What has impressed me through the years has been the high caliber of commitment, participation, and expertise of the board and staff to grant funding to Oakland schools and arts organizations dedicated to enhancing art programs for lower income youth. It's because of these qualities that AOK has a strong community base of donors and volunteers who believe in AOK's mission to support the youth of our city by being sure art remains a part of their growing years. I intend to continue supporting AOK in its mission.

Destiny Arts and the young people it serves are creating the world I want to live in...the world I want my (eventual) great-grandkids to live in. I am honored to be a former board member and an ongoing supporter.

I am honored to serve as an Executive Board Member for Cinnamongirl, Inc., the only Oakland, CA community-based organization that inspires and empowers girls to become proud, courageous and confident women. Cinnamongirl provides self-esteem enhancement activities, leadership training, life skills workshops, academic tutoring, mentoring by a diverse group of professional women and a breadth of empowerment and enrichment activities. We empower each of them to think big about their lives and their contributions to the world. We provide high levels of leadership training to our girls, enabling them with capabilities to make grand contributions to the international community. All are college-bound and poised for graduate school. They are dynamic, highly motivated, and eager to learn. Cinnamongirls are future scientists, CEOs, heads of schools, doctors and writers. Our first graduate from the program begins medical school fall 2010, and our youngest girl, who is 12 years old, aspires to become a pediatrician. I am inspired by their confidence and determination to accomplish their goals. Cinnamongirl is successful. It changes the lives of its participants in very positive ways. Presently, we are able to serve 45 highly motivated girls, ages 12-18. Our immediate goal is to offer the Cinnamongirl experience to the broader community by increasing, both, the numbers we serve and the scope of our program offerings. To do so, it is necessary for us to obtain and increase a revenue stream that will sustain our plans for expanding the program. We applaud Women’s Empowerment for the great work you do. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share Cinnamongirl with numerous non-profit organizations that are making a difference, one life at a time. This is an environmental non profit that truly embodies

The kids in the EOBA are fantastic along with the staff members. We do fun activities such as take the kids to parks, play games and have a golf club along with the boxing club. We also have a good staff to help kids with there homework. Anything that the kids have trouble with we help them the best way we can. Then we have an amazing garden with lots of fruits and vegetables so that the kids can eat healthy and learn about nutrition. This program is very good and i recommend it to anyone who wants to join or interested in the EOBA program.

Although I was one of the founding members of CM, I can honestly say that it is my most trusted source of information about parenting and child development. I trust Nurse Rona enormously. I think her sensitivities to special needs and cultural differences are deeply rooted in her care for the health & well-being of children and families. The organization - along with the radio show - is a dynamic group of committed mean & women whose daily work provides tens of thousands of moms and dads excellent advice on the most important job that any one of us could ever have.
