I attended GCC for nearly 8 years and have watched the evolution from a loving church to a church bent on building diversity and MONEY MONEY MONEY to earn more to offset its huge debt in the millions due to overspending and irresponsible spending. I can understand to a point the need to make a profit to offset debt, but the goings on behind the scenes is of major concern. The turnover of staff has been like a revolving door which is alarming in and of itself; but the lack of humility and concern for ALL members has been cloaked in the statement, "seniors are of little concern......it is the middle age families with children that are the primary drive to nurture and build from." Excuse me, but seniors have been the pillars of the church for years and often the financial giants of giving for years and should not be diminished. Also the PUSH for tithing and giving with the statement, "tithing should not be a tip, but 10% generous commitment to giving" What an insult to use the term, tip! Did the pastor not realize COVID forced many out of work and putting food on the table and paying bills became a constant source of stress for many families?

I left GCC in September 2020 after following on line sermons Pastor gave over the spring and summer months of lock down due to COVID. More often than not, something shifted in the relevance of his sermons and I was feeling less and less fed, and more and more empty.

When I learned of a neighboring church opening for service in September 2020 I began attending in person services and have not missed a single Sunday. The difference is night and day between my current pastor and GCC's lead pastor. HUMILITY is a standout and genuine sincerity for bringing Christ centered worship front and center with my new pastor. Finally I am feeling fed, blessed, and nurtured. For me, it is a joy to tithe and a joy to pray over and for the continued ministry this pastor serves us each week.

Additionally I find the music is too loud and those performing need to remember they are in the house of God, not a Broadway show by jumping around and spinning. I love to sing but I am not a fan of all the gyrations of any musical group, especially in worship service.

This was not an easy review to write and it was a hard decision to leave GCC, but for this Christian, the Lord has blessed myself and many other former GCC members beyond measure in my new church family! Clearly I am not alone is leaving GCC as I have seen so many familiar faces from GCC at the new church. It is so gratifying to hug them and share our love of God under a new roof!

I wish GCC much luck and to those who love the services there, God bless you. God felt my hunger and lead me to a church that better fits my needs and blesses my soul.
