Meridian Nonprofits and Charities

I used to donate, but I won’t donate another dime until PJ isn’t running this shelter any longer. My friend adopted from here 12 years ago and everything was fine. He completed the “pre-application” two days ago and didn’t hear anything. Finally, he received a fb message that he wouldn’t get the dog because he didn’t have a fenced in yard. The application states “fenced in yard or promise to use a leash”. This PJ is rude. When my friend tried to mention this to her on fb(because you will never get anyone to answer the phone or return your call), she blocked him. Yes, she played a kids game and blocked him. This is who makes decisions on an animal shelter. Despicable!

Stephanie, Rosie, and the staff at Free Clinic of Meridian are amazing!!!!. I dont know what we would do without them. When we started there they wanted to see us every 2 weeks because we hadnt been to a doctor in many years. They really care and helped us feel better. Thank you!!!!!

An amazing museum, venue, and creative space! This place is top notch and is surprising to find in Meridian, MS. Equipped with a Recording Studio, Pottery Studio, 2D Studio, Classroom for kids to make crafts, as well as interactive exhibits, you can help but learn something new every time you visit this place. Member benefits far exceed any other member benefits at other institutions. Great place to be a member, support, and visit!

It is extremely important that everyone eats everyday. It is my duty to ensure no one gets left behind I find it very important to donate to as many organizations as I can. This organization is especially near and dear to me because of my grandmother. When she was alive she welcomed everyone into her home she never knew a stranger I aspire to be the woman she is! Poverty is a major problem in the world and every bit helps!

The work these folks are doing is just amazing!! This is exactly what Meridian needed! I can't want to visit again!

A lasting tribute to honor and recognize the courage and commitment of past and present men and women of Meridian and East Mississippi who have served in the U. S. Armed Services. The East Mississippi Veterans Memorial Park will HONOR, EDUCATE and INSPIRE.<br><br>HONOR: To honor and recognize our service members and to instill in each of us a sense of appreciation, respect and awe for the individuals who served honorably and who are serving in order to preserve the freedoms that we cherish.<br>EDUCATE: To educate visitors, community and future generations about American military history and the role and contributions played in it by Mississippi service members. The memorial will foster a public understanding of the sacrifices made by all and their families during their service to our country, especially to those Veterans who served on the battlefields in order to protect and maintain the freedoms we enjoy.<br>INSPIRE: To inspire future generations to serve and carryon those values and love of country that their past ancestors have done before them so that we can continue to have the freedoms and rights that our great nation was founded upon.<br><br>The East Mississippi Veterans Memorial Park will create a distinctive and unique world class Memorial that gives veterans, their families and the community a peaceful area to reflect on the past and honor those who served and are currently serving. A timeless venue to honor all our service members for generations to come.<br>

When I came on the board to help preserve the historic Soule' Steam Feed Works site, I knew that we were starting a very special project. Our goal was to preserve this turn-of-the-20th-century site for future generations. We also wanted to create a place where history teaches and visitors learn about our American forefathers' hard work, ingenuity and desire for improving life. Soule' shows an important part of how industry progressed over time. It is a joy to see younger people learn how to operate the antique machines and demonstrate them for our visitors. To experience the sounds and smells of steam engines operating under real steam is worth a visit to the Soule' Live Steam Festival in November. There are few sites like Soule' remaining in the United States. We cannot afford to let America's early technology and manufacturing era pass into oblivion. Future generations need to have some knowledge of how America became great.
