In October 2016, I was referred by a colleague to build a website for MHSR. I discussed this job with a few different board members of this organization, and we talked about the requirements of the site. I gave a quote, and the website build began... a few more emails went back and forth and the website had a prototype by November.<br>At this point, I was looking for feedback and we were getting closer to the go-live. The last correspondence I received was on December 9th, which was an apology for being busy and saying that they will be better about communicating on the timeline.<br>I never received anything else... at one point I sent an email in January 2017 that asked if we were still going forward with the project, and given I had already spent 40+ hours on the website (that was nearly ready to launch) that I'd be happy to just bill a fraction of the project if they didn't want to finish it out. <br>To this day I have no idea what went wrong with this project - whether they were just too busy to get it done, didn't like my work, ended up not having the money they needed to finish it out, or whatever the reason. I should have gotten an upfront payment, but I guess that's what happens when you put trust in people that you don't know and assume are trustworthy.<br>Writing this in 2022, and it is nice to see that their website did finally get updated! I hope the web dev that they hired got paid and isn't still having to hound them for payment of a project that they hired for.
