I have been blessed to learn about Soul Harbour. I have been attending dog training classes with an amazing trainer named LuAnne Smith. I have been working hard with my dog to train him to become a therapy dog and join the Soul Harbour team. Jodie participates in so many wonderful volunteer opportunities and brings joy to so many faces with all of her amazing animals. She has therapy horses, dogs, and pigs. I can't wait for us to pass the test and join her therapy teams. This is such a wonderful organization.

Our family has been so impressed with IDR since we became associated with them in 2008. That is when we brought our Doberman, Jace, home to live with us. From the very beginning, Jace's transfer to us was treated as a top priority and the care/attention to detail they provided to him was exceptional. We were so happy to give him a home and just as happy to learn he was rescued and cared for by IDR, the treatment he received there was wonderful! They do so much for Dobermans and other animals. <br>The Patenaude Family

For anybody who has written negative comments about Stacey and/or her organization, shame on you. You are making comments that are just not true and/or fair to the hard work Stacey (and her volunteers) do for all of the animals they care for. I adopted two cats from Stacey back in September of last year (2013), they are brothers and approx. 11 years old. Stacey was so caring and wonderful during the adoption process. These two cats are the sweetest, most loving pets I have ever had. Stacey was very thorough in determining if my home would be best for these two cats. They had been with her for over 2 years and she was determined to find them a forever home together!!! These guys have the best life now and couldn't be happier or healthier. Just because Stacey doesn't return calls right away, doesn't make her some type of bad person. She runs this shelter almost solely on a daily basis. She's usually busy taking care of the animals and their needs. Also, those of us who know Stacey understand she isn't the most computer literate and communicating with her via a method other than phone is really not an option....so.....Why is this such a big deal? WHO CARES? Who is anybody to say she has to be a computer wiz? <br> <br>I was and still am thoroughly impressed by the love and caring Stacey gives to all of the animals she is keeping until they can find their forever homes. I would challenge anybody to say otherwise!!!!

This non-profit is really one of the best large animal/ horse rescues in the nation. Their founder assisted in the passage of the Humane Care for Animals Act in 1971 and she continues to be a voice for the animals who cannot speak for themselves today. I have yet to meet a group of more hard working & dedicated individuals than the staff and volunteers at HARPS. This winter they rescued and adopted 75 horses from an abandoned farm in Hampshire, IL.
