I have been working at this shelter for the last 7 years. Our shelter
has been visited by vets, animal lovers, newspaper reporters, and
other shelter personnel and all have commented to us that it is the cleanest and nicest small shelter they have seen. When our cats find their "forever" homes, they have been well-socialized, and well-loved. I myself have 3 of our rescues. Two of them were so scared of humans (their previous contacts with people was less than humane!) that they each spent months hiding. They now sit on my lap, purr, head butt my husband and I and let us know, in their own way, how happy they are living with us. There is no better feeling to any of us after having an animal arrive at our shelter door, frightened, dirty and sick, than eventually having that same animal put their little paws on your face to give you a "kiss" of thanks. The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
having spent time with many animals who needed the extra care and being a small part of their rehabilitation and in socializing them. We had a kitten who had hepetitis and the vet advised us to euthanizie her. We refused, and spent months medicating and exercising and loving on her! She was adopted by one of our volunteers and I can tell you that today she is healthy, loving and having a ton on fun!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
find some more funding for us!
MY ROLE:
Volunteer & Previously, I was in the financial industry and volunteered with a woman's abuse center and a foundation for gravely ill children. Now I am retired and spend time working at the shelter.
