ATLANTA GAY MENS CHORUS INC
July 8, 2009

What the Atlanta Gay Men's Chorus does for me personally and the community at large cannot be underestimated. I recently attended a musical concert that not only touched me personally, but also bridged and important gap between the gay community and the rest of Atlanta. The chorus provides such a positive example of gay role models for LGBT people who are trying to come out as well as for the straight community. Often these positive role models are absent or under-represented in contemporary society. The AGMC blends musical harmony with a vivid reflection of social intolerance to create a musical tapestry of its vision for a more accepting society.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the way it bridges communication between communities.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

help to establish an even wider volunteer base to help with outreach efforts as well as find ways to capitalize on capturing audience data for future concert and outreach opportunities.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the beautiful music along with the outreach to the greater community.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

helpful, engaged and motivated to provide the best experience possible.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide a permanent safe space for members of the gay community to meet in musical fellowship and to continue to reach out to the Southeastern US in its efforts to increase tolerance and break down barriers.

Ways to make it better...

the organization had enough resources to insure that its message would continue to be heard across multiple communities.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

widening its donor base and increaseing its artistic outreach and social relevance across the barriers of intolerance and homophobia.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have personally seen this organization provide a safe space for intolerance and homophobia to be overcome either with members of the audience or through the example provided to other organizations the chorus has partnered with.
