Athletes Serving Athletes, Inc.

I had the opportunity to Volunteer at a 5K race. I was amazed at the dedication and determination of the athletes while participating in the event. I've met Dave both during events and outside of events and his passion for these kids and this organization is very evident. I've cried many tears of job and happiness watching these kids smile as they cross the finish line. And the excitement and energy at every event that this wonderful organization participates in is amazing. I feel very blessed to have met Dave and had the opportunity to volunteer as well.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

This organization needs more $$...and I'm not sure how to spread the word. So, if I have to say something, it would be to get the name of the Organization out into the surrounding communties..

Tough one...off the top of my head, I really have no idea...

Met some new friends...

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

I cried a lot. I always knew I was blessed with healthy kids...seeing these kids running, walking, being pushed opened my eyes to the excitement that these kids have as they cross the finish line...I actually went and told one of the runners, who was blind and ran his first 5K, what a great job he did. He was just so happy and so excited to just finish!

MY ROLE:
Volunteer & Volunteerd at an ASA event. I helped set-up for the race, give out packts to the runners, and then cheered on the runners as they crossed the finish line.
