I had to find a new home for my 2 cockatiels, Peanut and Pearl, last weekend. We drove to Harlem from Macon, GA and entered the facility. We met Rob who was working on a new sprinkler system for the refuge and then met Bob, who took us on a tour of the place. What an amazing facility and amazing bunch of people we met! The outside aviaries were amazing and each bird seemed to have his/her own touching personal story and personality. I was so worried at first but after leaving, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and satisfaction with my decision to find a new home for my birds. Feathered Friends Forever seems almost perfect. My boyfriend and I are planning on volunteering as much as possible and will definitely continue to have a relationship with these wonderful people. Thank you so much Ron, Tammy, and Bob and everyone else who has shown so much heart and love and concern for birds in need. I'm saddened that so many birds go through so many hardships but my heart swells with gratitude knowing that there are people out there willing to donate their time, energy, love, and hearts to such amazing feathered friends.
