I have been associated with Udayan Care since May 2007 and it's been a real learning experience for me. I visited Ms Kiran Modi maa'm my friend Dr. Savleen as volunteers. We started visiting Sant Nagar home in New Delhi. Interaction with children, with mentor mother and other volunteer all has been a real enriching for me. These small children make you learn (relearn) so many things about your life that you have forgotten. I was acting as teacher of Nancy - a class IX girl and she is just faboulous and teaches me more about myself, my weaknesses and my behaviour. Other children like Rekha, Kiran and Mamta are also very good. The organisation takes care of children in a very structure way. Homes have all the facilities that any child can aspire for. All children have assigned duties so that they can feel responsible. In a country like India, when we can see thousands of orphans roaming around on roads, this organisation is a small but very right step in right direction.
