Head Injury Rehabilitation and Referral Services, Inc.
August 6, 2009

The service they provide is unmatched. Their hearts are big and their knowledge of brain injuries vast. They have helped me come so far and have never given up on me. I have a chance to make something of myself due to my own hard work and their guidance.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my own life. They are like my living, breathing guardian angels.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Change nothing. Follow and build upon example.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing my life turn around from the worst point in my life after sustaining a Brain Injury & finding that many of the service provided elsewhere were substandard & not enough to give me the hope I so desperately needed. Only they, it seemed could do that.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Kind, warm, skillful in their jobs, patient, able to push me when I needed to be pushed, & support me when I needed to be supported. Help me get the services elsewhere that I needed. Excelent bed-side manner, so to speak.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

It could help, save, rescue, serve so many people across the country maybe (at least the state) & start an advocacy campaign to cause real systems change in the healtcare industry and also help so many of the returning war vets who have brain injuries too

Ways to make it better...

I hadn't needed their services in the first place. They set the bar for great services. I honestly feel this way & feel like if anyone gets services from them as a result of this review I'm posting I will have all but saved that person's life & am a hero.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Getting enough funding and resources. And facing a world that doesn't recognize brain injury as the serious problem that it is.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The people at Head Injury Rehab & Referral Services (HIRRS) impacted my life more than anyone in my entire life, save my mom and brother, & b/f them I didn't think that people this good existed in the world. They gave me Hope, Faith, & Will to go forward.
