Review for Love in Abundance, Houston, TX, USA
It is very apparent that their is a great disparity in the public educational institutions throughout the United States. Unfortunately our children are the ones who will suffer because of this. Many of these children will turn out to become problems within our communities rather than being productive members of our society. But because of organizations like Love In Abundance (LIA), many of these kids have opportunities that otherwise would not have been afforded them. LIA has a program that prepares Middle school children for college. This programs restores hope to some of our children who wanted to go to college, but did not think that it would be available for them. This program helps these kids to see that not only is college a possibility for them, but it is also an opportunity for them to fulfill their dreams and goals. Mrs. Gunnells-Hodge, thank you and LIA for providing hope and giving our children a more positive outlook on life.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Yes. Since I volunteered an saw what they did in Houston, I have moved to Florida and trying to get them to establish the program here.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
It had been a long time since I had even been in a Middle school. To see the kids inquiring about the program spoke volume to me.
