I was a University student in the School of Social Work back in 1977 and was placed at AYUDA to gain experience while I was being supervised. I helped assess children with disabilities, met and counseled their parents, conducted play therapy, taught the children social skills, made community referrals to help support the family, and just learned sooo much! I was hired as a counselor and as the years progressed I became Executive Director and President of the organization. AYUDA is a great agency with great staff that goes over and above the call of duty to help and empower clients. AYUDA has conducted it's work "in the trenches", where clients cannot afford to pay for services. Clients range from infancy to frail elders and services reach throughout South Florida.
