My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Center for Children and Families, Inc. , Norman, OK, USA
It is my first year working with CCFI and it has really opened my eye up to the needs of our fellow neighbors in the Norman community that need our assistance. This organization tires their best to help every family that comes to them. They know their names and backgrounds right off the top of their heads, which really impresses me. It shows that this organization really cares and when we discuss the variety of situations going on in each family I'm always impressed that they care so much about help these families in need. It's a challenging environment for them as well and I congratulate this organization for doing its best to help as many families as possible and with great pride.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Personally I see that the kids that I have worked with may not show the out most respect towards the volunteers and CCFI staff member, but that doesn't mean we're not making a difference. As situations arise these kids always want to come back to the program, which goes to show that we are doing something positive in these kids' lives. The results can be hidden and hard to see, but seeing the kids show up everynight at the NC program and the bonds we have developed with them show that change is occuring.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Unfortunately due to funding gaps the needs of the families will still be lacked. It would be great to expand some of their existing programs to work with some of these kids one-on-one. Many of these kids have anger management/self expression issues or have gone through extraordinary situations that they need help talking their problems out on a one-on-one basis.
