I have volunteered with Family Outreach, Richardson-Plano for 5 years. I have served as a volunteer, Secretary and President. I have taught parenting classes and mentored families. I have seen the difference Family Outreach Richardson-Plano has made with the families we serve. I am honored to volunteer with a group that is so committed to their mission to prevent child abuse and neglect through one-on-one support to families.

MY ROLE:
Volunteer
April 19, 2011
I have volunteered with Family Outreach, Richardson-Plano for almost 4 years. When I moved to Texas 4 years ago, I knew I wanted to volunteer with an organization that worked hands on in the community. I found that with Family Outreach, Richardson-Plano. I am honored to volunteer with a group that is so committed to their mission to prevent child abuse and neglect through one-on-one support to families.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
When I mentored a family, I saw first hand the positive impact one on one involvement can have. When teaching parenting classes, as the weeks go by, you can see the changes in the adults in the class as they try different communication and discipline techniques.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would also like to see an increase in funding and the number of volunteers. You can never have enough dedicated volunteers. I would love to obtain more grant funding so we could increase our ability to assist families.
MY ROLE:
Volunteer & I have served on the Managing and Executive Boards, mentored a family and taught parenting classes.
