My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Save the Children Federation, Inc., Fairfield, CT, USA
There are undoubtedly many choices when it comes to making a charitable gift, and quite a few if you are looking to sponsor a child. I did my homework and looked for one that had good rankings from the charity watchdogs, transparent reporting and a strong track record. Save the Children seemed to fit all those criteria very well. I have been sponsoring my child for over two years now and I am very happy with my choice. I have received several letters from my child and have seen actual reports of improvements made in his and his village's life. Yes they solicit me often for additional gifts and to sponsor another child, but what nonprofit doesn't, and besides, who can really fault them for trying to raise as much as they can for their cause?

Review for American Foundation For Equal Rights, Los Angeles, CA, USA
There are many groups working for equality, all doing great work. What's special about AFER though is that they are uniquely focussed on Prop 8, meaning that they are fully and totally committed to winning it's overturn. When groups work on too many issues sometimes they measure impact across them all and progress can be slow.
I also think they deserve more credit, they are after all the ones leading the actual case. You can be sure though that when they win, our entire community will benefit and there'll be no shortage of groups and individuals lining up to take credit.

Knowing that I'm personally funding the actual suite to overturn Prop 8. Every time I see the lawyers in the courtroom I see the results of my gift.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Give them and their efforts a lot more publicity!
