Do not choose Haiti sponsorship through World Vision: try a different charity. Through WVI, I had sponsored a young girl over several years. The photos I received looked VERY much like they were taken all at the same time: the girl never got older. When I made a large gift, they sent me a newsletter showing only men. I am sure my money helped in some way, but it did not go to the girl I wanted to help.
