My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Stupid Cancer, New York, NY, USA
IY has been a big help for me. After being diagnosed and treated, finding a support group to help me had been difficult. I tried the standard ones, but they did not fit me. I heard about IY from a coworker and went to a movie night. Then a happy hour. Then a conference. I have met some wonderful and supportive people. I have made great friendships and I know where I can turn to talk about the hardships and fears that I am going through. They have helped me overcome some of my fears and put me in touch with others who I can talk about my experiences with.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Helping to match others up going through survivor issues with other survivors who have been there done that.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
How non judgmental they are. No one tries to one up another or have a 'worse' experience. Everyone is accepted.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Help extend the life expectancy for cancer patients in the 18 to 40 year range.
Ways to make it better...
More people knew about IY to help out, volunteer and spread the news about young adults with cancer.
