Green River Preserve is a summer camp in the mountains of North Carolina. Summer camp is the best antidote for the loss of summer learning. It promotes educational enrichment that enhances the development of our children. A recent study by the American Camping Association confirms that summer camp is the single most important factor in youth development next to parenting.
Green River Preserve allows me to be my best me. My experiences at GRP allows me to connect to the natural world, and discover my full potential. Green River has given me confidence. It has inspired me to to preserve and protect the green spaces that are left in our world. As well as share with children how important and wonderful the outdoors are.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have seen children bloosom into the people that they can be, make new friends, and discover the beauty of nature. Children are able to be themselves and gain self confidence. Also, youth are learning to appreciate the outdoors. GRP is developing the next generation of naturalist.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would hope that all young people would have the opportunity to experience a summer at Green River Preserve or an organization like this. In school, children engages two senses: seeing and hearing. Camp engages all of a child's senses. An example of this is building a fire: you can touch it, see it, hear it pop, feel its' warmth, cook food to taste it.
