Connecting Futures is a non profit organization that focuses on helping youth. I am apart of the King's Daughters Mentoring Program, which is apart of the Connecting Futures organization. This program specifically focuses on mentoring young girls ages 12-18. Sharon Allen is the creator of this program. She has a passion to see all of the girls in her program succeed. She personally chooses each of the mentors on the basis that they want to see theses girls succeed as well. I am personally a mentor and truly value this experience to help these girls achieve. We have after school classes with topics such as good manners and how to handle your money. They have attended college fairs and diversity workshops. This program opens the girls up to experiences they might not have ever had on the own. I am happy to be apart of this great program.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in seeing all of my mentees graduate and go on to college. I am grateful to have been apart of each of their experiences. I continue to talk to each of them and I know that being apart of this program has had a profound impact on their lives.
Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would look for more people to mentor. We have alot of young girls join the program but not enough mentors to go around. I would maybe try to partner with other local organizations to increase the number of volunteers.
