NATIONAL WALKING HORSE ASSOCIATION
February 28, 2011

The National Walking Horse Association is a prime of example of how things can be changed for the positive. That change came courage of a few dedicated people. Those few sacrificed their time, effort and own resources to start this organization. Because of those few, our organization has come a long way in a short time. Those few have multiplied and continue to grow.

The NWHA is an organization that promotes the sound practices of training and exhibiting the Tennessee Walking horse. It is also an organization that is just fun to be a part of. People encourage their fellow exhibitor and are more than willing to lend a helping hand. This organization looks for the positive.

Thanks to the founding members for their forsight and courage to establish a change in the world of the Tennessess Walking Horse.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

We were on the verge of turning to trail riding only when NWHA was founded. Through NWHA, we have met so many people who we call our friends. The commradie of the organization is infectious. Because of our association with NWHA, we were able to donate the use of a former National Champion to be used at the Kentucky Horse Park as representative in their breed demonstration. Trapper has been seen by visitors from around the country as well as the world.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Encourage everyone to volunteer when possible and just keep doing what they are doing. Never hesitate to tell someone about the National Walking Horse Association and what it is doing for the horse.

MY ROLE:
Volunteer & My husband and I trail ride and show our horses. We use our experiences and horses as ambassors for the breed.
