My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Women's eNews, New York, NY, USA
I am new to Women's eNews on- line. That I found it, I'm not sure how. I am thrilled that it did.
I am a graduate of an unique program in Toronto, Canada. It is called the Assaulted Women and Children's Cousellor/Advocate Program. It trains women to work with women in the shelter system. I did work with women in shelters. I have also worked with many other marginalized populations of women in situations of poverty, homelessness, in conflict with the law, with issues with their children, with their partners, with gender issues and through all the sorts of violence, neglect and disrespect that our society and culture - Canadian and American - put so many of us through.
I have often felt unsupported and fatigued in the work.
In the last few years, I was having a difficult time finding ways to uplift and support myself in the on-going never-ending work needed to be done and to be done in so many arenas.
Your site which names the stuff to "Cheer" helps uplift and support me and my work.
Reading what other women are doing and succeeding doing uplifts and supports me and my work.
Thank you thank you thank you,
P.S. I, regularly, forward the newsletter to other women in the work.
