Even in this twenty-first century as women continue to break gender barriers and glass ceilings, in the mass media they are still too often under-represented, marginalized, stereotyped or objectified. That's why Women's eNews provides such a valuable service in presenting the stories of, for, and by women from around the world that show the breadth, depth, and diversity of womankind. The daily email story from them can be informative, disturbing, moving, and/or inspirational. It's one of the few must-read organizational emails of the many I receive. They also are savvy enough to provide occasional comic relief (and prove that women DO have a sense of humor) through the cartoons of Nicole Hollander and Liza Donnelly.
I share Women's eNews stories often with my classmates from an international Gender and Peace Building program, with family members, and with friends on email and social networks. If every reader of this service does the same, who knows what the cumulative ripple effect could be? Perhaps that the next generation of media makers will treat women more equitably.

The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Reading their daily offerings about women and our issues from around the world and sharing them with others. Being inspired to learn more about some of the issues discussed and/or contributing to good efforts or causes presented.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Have them solicit writings from their readers at least once a year, or have a Readers Respond entry on occasion.
MY ROLE:
General Member of the Public & I read this service daily and share it with others.
